About Adventure Guide In Switzerland

As serene and beautiful Switzerland is, it hides within its scenic peaks and tulip gardens boundless opportunities for the adrenaline rush. Adventure sports in Switzerland are as famous as its chocolates and watches, but it is certainly not for the faint-hearted. Almost every major town and city has to offer some adventure activities in Switzerland, especially the ones around the Alps region. The mighty Alps have protected the country geographically and politically since the inception, and, along with that, it caters to the tourism as well. For those who crave the thrill of blood pumping through the veins in excitement, here are the many outdoor activities in Switzerland to indulge in.

1. Tandem Paragliding in the Swiss Alps, Interlaken

The resort town in the Bernese Oberland mountainous region between the lakes Thun and Brienz (hence ‘interlaken’), offers great opportunities for paragliding in Switzerland in the crystal-clear skies above the Swiss Alps. The ride is assisted by a pilot who will be behind all the time for safety and assistance, while the glider can experience the once-in-a-lifetime view of the emerald green lakes, the dense forests and green meadows and the breathtakingly beautiful, sparkling white alpine scenery.

2. Skydiving, Bernese Alps

Skydiving is no easy task. But if one must do it, the Swiss Alps are the perfect place to take the leap. Mount Eiger’s famous north face, shining golden with the sun’s direct rays for a good part of the day, are a popular skydiving spot for beginners and veterans alike. Jumping off from the helicopter near the mountain peak, the tandem will gradually guide the diver towards the lands of Grindelwald with a fascinating view of the Bernese Alps.

3. Bungee Jumping, Stockholm

The Stockholm Bungee Jumping in Switzerland is one of the most thrilling rides in the world. After being lifted to a height of 134m in a mountain gondola, the coming down part includes a complete free fall from that gigantic height till the leashes controlled by the professionals lower down the jumper into the waiting boat down there. Nothing ever feels as terrifying and freeing at the same time as jumping gravity-less from a height of 134 metres.

4. Canoeing and kayaking, Interlaken

Interlaken keeps reappearing whenever it comes to adventure in Switzerland, thanks to its dynamic geographical features. Canoeing and kayaking experiences are one of a kind in the Interlaken area. The boats meander through deep gorges and cascading pools of rapids, with white water splashing all around. The trips are blissfully adventurous through the wilderness of the Swiss Alps, but provided with all the necessary safety gears.

5. Glacier Hiking, Grindelwald

The lower glacial canyon of Grindelwald is a natural masterpiece, and also a perfect terrain for trekking and hiking in Switzerland, while soaking in the picturesque beauty of the rock structures. The iconic trail from the Eigergletscher Railway Station to Grindelwald via Gletscherschlucht and the hike through the Jungfrau Region are two of the best routes one can hope to tread in Europe.
