Established in 1656 by Lakshmikantadeva, Garamur Satra is among the royal Satras of Majuli. The Assamese word ‘Garamur’ is derived from the compound words ‘Garh’ meaning ‘embankment’ and ‘mur’ meaning ‘head,’ translating to ‘the endpoint of an embankment.’ It was a monastic institution earlier, but Pitambardev Goswami, a Satradhikar, converted it to a semi-monastic Satra in 1915. The Satra has an antique collection of cookware, jewelry, and handicrafts that constitute the Assamese heritage. Noorfathima's 14 days trip to North East

The over experience was ok. Things that were good was the driver and the hotel booking except for the one in Itanagar. Things that could be better was that we dint have to follow up on them on our next stay and other bookings. The bumla pass tour was mentioned by the travel agency forgot to keep the permit ready, however the permit was made last min. Later the stay at one place was booked just to minimize the cost of booking non geyser rooms were book, I think this basic amenities should be consider and when contacted travel triangle they say if these was mentioned in the booking only then it will be provided, I would really like to know if you people seriously mention facilities like fan tube lights, geyser kind of facilities are mentioned in your packages. As per what I have seen it is mentioned AC or Non-AC never seen booking mentioning geyser and non geyser, If was really a concern the team should have informed about it to us earlier than creating a kiosk when we arrive at the property and then 100 calls for the 500 extra as we took the geyser rooms, you people need to understand we are on vacation and these things can be kept to sort later and we were not provided with our next city (Mechuka) pass till the money was transferred. You people kept telling us how underdeveloped Arunachal Pradesh is and how bad the internet connectivity is but still we received message saying "Please transfer as we don''t want your further trip to be spoiled" Like seriously for the 1500/- all this.. Last but not least the tour to Majuli we wanted to travel on the same day from Aalo to Majuli which was possible in spite of request to do the planning we were told Majuli is a Island we need only to take ferry to reach there and even denied the google maps route which was suggest and we were asked "Do we understand the meaning of island it is surrounded by water and there is no other way than ferry" so I think as a travel agent you should get your facts right and not mislead the travelers. Yes, I understand the meaning of an Island and google is never wrong there is a bridge that connects Majuli via road and you dont have to always take a ferry. Again ferry was included in package and the driver was not informed about the same and we had to follow up with the travel agent to get this sorted out with driver.

Chalohoppo support and services were excellent. They were in touch from time to time throughout the tour which was very convenient in the distant place. Very good accommodation was provided in all the places. Driver was well aware of the places. Good guides were provided wherever required. It was a really an exciting tour we ever had. Enjoyed the Elephant safari. Boat ride and swim in Umngto river at Shongpdeng were overwhelming. Had new experience staying in the bamboo cottage at Majuli and in the tents at Shongpdeng.

Barundebchatterjee's 8 days trip to North East

Chetan Baloor of Chalo Hoppo did a very good job of planning. The hotels, though rated mid, they were really perfect but not very professional in some. You can digest it by the fact that the limited few staffing the places were of open heart. The addition of Majuli to the itinerary was a great stroke. The complaints, like the first bus - horrific- was managed well by the substitute after first two days of ordeal - by one great driver forgot the name. Overall a memory to cherish. Chetan will go a long way. Many

Our trip of NE by Travel Triangle covering Assam. Meghalaya & Arunachal was very well planned and executed by Mr Tapuban Saikia of Siang Explorer. All arrangements right from pick-up, hotel stays and places covered as per itinary were excellent and well organized. Mr Amal Sarma our driver-cum- guide , very polite and excellent person took us to all the places in Meghalaya- Cherrapunjee -Dawki - Mawllynnong ,Assam-Kaziranga, Majuli- Arunachal-Tawang-Sela pass etc. with skilled and safe driving over hilly terrains for which he deserves our special appreciation. We thank Tapuban for offering and executing such a wonderful and memorable NE package with safe & secure journey. . We wish to take trip with Travel Triangle/Siang in future ,whenever the opportunity emerge. One suggestion could be to fix 4WD vehicle (with chain) well in advance for travel to Bumla Pass which is a snowy mountain terrain.
