2. Jebel Akhdar

Jebel Akhdar is the highest point in Oman. It is a limestone mountain, which you would expect to be way hotter, but the cool breeze keeps this place really cool and perfect for a day out.

3. Muscat

Muscat is the capital of Oman, and is a major tourist spot for everybody who visits here. From historic monuments to amazing shopping options, Muscat is a great place to start the tour since you can treat it as a stopover for all your day trips and cruises, as is the case with most Oman tour packages.

4. Masirah Island

The Masirah Island is an amazing place that is reminiscent of a tropical paradise. You will have to reach it via a ferry ride, and once here you can check out a couple of small towns and villages, and enjoy some fishing. You can also hike up to the Jabal Al Humr, which is the highest mountain peak of Oman. If you find yourself here at the right time, you can also check out hundreds of baby turtles crossing over to the sea from the beach after they hatch.

Best Time To Visit Oman

The country is said to have one of the hottest as well as the driest weather in the world, with the average high temperature reaching more than 50°C in the desert and crossing 40°C in the coastal regions, during the peak of summers. The mountainous regions, such as the Dhofar area does stay a little cool throughout the year, and also receives more rainfall. The best time to visit Oman would be in the winter, lasting from December to February, when the weather is much more pleasant as compared to the rest of the year. This is when the holiday packages to Oman sell the most.

Summer

The summer season in Oman lasts from June to August, and is not at all a suitable time to plan a Oman trip, owing to the super hot weather here. The dry and dusty desert climate hinders the planning of any good day trip or sightseeing.

Autumn

Lasting from September to November, this is the season when the hot sun starts to relent and the weather turns a little bit cooler, with a cool breeze from the mountains bringing relief.

Winter

The best time to visit Oman is in the winter season here, with a pleasant weather, cool days and chilly nights. This is when you can enjoy cruises on the sea, and spend time at uninhabited islands of the Hajar Mountains, snorkeling and scuba diving. Make sure to book your Oman packages in advance to avoid last minute hassles.

Spring

The spring season in Oman lasts from March to May, when the weather is pretty hot, especially in the desert areas and the plains. It can be a good time to visit Oman, since the cool weather of the mountains make it possible to spend time over there.

How To Reach Oman?

Oman is a place that is well connected to some of its neighbors, such as the UAE, as well as most parts of the world. The best way to get here is via flights, although there are possibilities of getting here by sea and road, but both of these options are limited. Most well-planned Oman packages include flights or are planned keeping air travel in mind.

By Air

There are three major airports in Oman, namely Al Khasab, Muscat, and Salalah. Most international flights to Oman land at the Muscat International Airport or the Salalah International Airport, which is well connected to all the major countries across the world, such as India, the US, France, Germany, and so on. The national airline of Oman is Oman Airlines, apart from which several other airlines also serve Oman such as the Royal Jordanian Airlines, Emirates, and Ethiopian Airlines, making it convenient to book your Oman holiday packages.

By Road

Getting to Oman via roads is only possible from the UAE. There are plenty of direct private buses that connect Dubai to Muscat, Salalah and Nizwa. The roads are in great condition and maintained well, so driving over to Oman from Dubai in the UAE would not be any problem.

Rishav's 5 days trip to Thailand

Overall a good trip but certain points need to be taken into notice : (1) That though Oman Air flights are cheap but they are invariably routed through their hub Muscat which does not have any meal options for vegetarians..... (2) that market visits should not be scheduled on Fridays as most shops remain closed (3) that your trip partners Sadi or Arabian nights drivers though punctual but do not accommodate small requests which can be easily met... (4) that the food quality on Desert Safari is bad (5) (1) Visit to Ferrari World (2) JoodsPalace was threat hotel (3) Atlantis thePalm was fantastic
