By Air: Travelling by air from Pune to Bhutan is the best method used to travel. While there are not any direct Pune to Bhutan flights, people from Pune can travel to the mountainous country by first traveling to Kolkata or Delhi, from where they can take a flight to Paro. The entire Pune to Bhutan flight duration including the layover comes to around 11 hours on an average.

By Road: The distance from Pune to Bhutan by road comes to 2858 kilometers. The entire journey comes to around 56 hours of continuous travel through several states. With rest stops in between it increases even further. Add to that the tolls that need to be paid to travel on the road, and the chances of damage to the car and fuel cost, traveling by road becomes an expensive trip.

By Rail: To travel from Pune to Bhutan by railways directly is impossible due to the lack of a connecting railway. There is an alternative available, however, where a person can travel to Kolkata by train and then catch another train from there to New Jalpaiguri, or Hasimara. From Hasimara or the NJP station, they can take a cab or bus to the border, from where they can enter Bhutan.

I had specifically asked for 4 star properties and was quoted amount for the same. Lemon Tree thimpu is a 3 star property as per google and other major websites and Lemon Tree manager also said it is a 3 star property. Valley Travels passes it off as a 4 star Property. In Paro we were changed from

Tashi Namgay, a 4 star property to tiger's Nest at the last minute. Tiger's Nest is a very old Property without proper plumbing and very far off from Airport as well as city center.
