Art Gallery of Ontario is one of Canada’s most cultural destinations and distinguished as well. It is the second most visited museum boasting of several galleries, intensive library, espresso bar, artist-in-residence, theatre and lecture hall, a cafe and an event hall called the Baillie Court. Art Gallery of Ontario’s paintings are a multitude in variety and boasts paintings like ‘Massacre of the Innocents’ by Peter Paul Rubens, ‘West Wind’ by Tom Thomson, ‘The Shop Girl’ by James Tissot among others.  Aside from the painting collections, Art Gallery of Ontario’s exhibitions is known too, like ‘This Mountain Loves You’, ‘Connecting with our first family’, ‘Tunirrusiangit: Kenojuak Ashevak and Tim Pitsiulak’ and a plethora of other such intriguing works. Art Gallery of Ontario’s museum comprises of Library and Archives with 380,000+ volumes of Rare Books, folios of Artists’ books from the 17th century to present, travel guides, magazines and more.

Events at the Art Gallery of Ontario

Various events are organized at the Art Gallery of Ontario which is based on various themes. The events are for various age groups and for various purposes as well. Some workshop-based events are writing explorations inspired by Joseph Beuys, Art, and ideas: Drawing, Drinks and Social, writing explorations inspired by Kara Hamilton. Some special events include Library and Archives Unshelved: Historic Grange Park, Public Opening- Brian Jungen: Friendship Centre. Some of the youth events are Clay and Ceramics with Ness Lee, House dancing with Warehouse Jack, Skateboard building with Oasis Skateboard Factory. In the list of Art Gallery of Ontario events, there are family events as well which are Printmaking Together: Exploring Norval Morrisseau which is suitable for ages 6-10years accompanying an adult.
