Trip to Sri LankaOur Lanka trip was smooth and comfortable overall because of Ms Stuti Gupta. She ensured that all our requirements were met and maintained constant touch to fill up any gaps that popped up. We were a group of two families. In Kandy one family stayed in Lagone City and the other one in Sandriana. Sandrina had a good view. But both the hotels had bad breakfast. Infact there was nothing to eat even at 8:30 am. The rooms were neat and attitude of the staff was courteous. We stayed in Oak Ray Tea Bush in Nuwara Eliya. The hotel was pricey. It did not have a swimming pool. It was located 17kms from the Little England region. The property was decent and good for relaxation. Not very suitable for families with kids who would be interested in little sources of amusement around the place of stay as the hotel by itself did not have any recreational facility. They did have live music on one of the two nights that we stayed there. We stayed in Jie Jie by Jetwing in Bentota. The hotel was good and had a private beach. The environment was lively and breakfast was served till 10. The main gate of the hotel was a manned railway crossing. Much of a dare! Our experience with the first cab driver was bad. He was extremely laid back and tried to dissuade us from visiting any place. However, when we communicated this to Stuti, she got the driver replaced through the agent. Our second driver, Mr Danush Priyankara was good and gave us a good travelling experience in Lanka. Of the places we visited, strawberry farm was a disaster. Botanical gardens were good. Madu river cruise was good. Turtle farm was interesting. Cultural show was also good. Overall, the experience was 3*
Trip to Sri LankaThe driver could have provided us more information on the places we visited. Almost no story telling from the driver during the whole trip. Also, was very concerned visiting commercial places like Susantha Herbal Gardens and Storefield plant factory that sell terribly overpriced herbs and teas to tourists. Must warn tourist about the over pricing before reaching the site. Love the place, Little England / Nurwara Eliya. Nice cool weather and good scenery
Trip to Sri LankaHad a very pleasant trip.. Must say the hotel arrangements at Bentota & Nuwara Eliya were excellent, giving a 5* rating to both of them, polite & friendly staff, good food. A special word of appreciation to Mr Ahmed from Apple Sri Lanka who made it a point to call up everyday of my stay to leaving suitable instructions to the Managers at both places for a safe stay of lady travellers & Mr. Nandan our driver cum guide who was excellent in his manners.. The trip was too short & streanous but managed to cover all places in itenary.. Hotel at Colombo Sapphire was not too good so would not recommend.. Also advice travellers to skip Kandy as other than Botonical gardens the Elephant camp that I was taken too had only 5 elephants, so can be skipped.. Dubbarwe in Coorg offers you more elephants to see... Overall a good trip.. Agent at India, Dimple from TT has done a gr8 job.. Nuwara Eliya, little England is a fantastic place.. advise ppl to stay for 2 days atleast.
Trip to Sri LankaThis was my second trip with Travel Triangle and TT is going to be my family's own Travel group for life!! Thanks a lot TT for organizing my trip to Sri Lanka in such a way which was all according to our preferences and was budget friendly. Elegance Lanka Tours Group has done a fantastic job in managing my trip E2E.Thanks to Mr. Buddhika and our driver cum guide Dinesh. Everyone was so friendly and pleasing in Sri Lanka and the country is just spell bound. Each of the destination had its own beauty. We just loved Sri Lnka and the way it was organised. Nuwara Eliya which is known as mini England of Sri Lanka.
Trip to Sri LankaWe were 5 friends from India who were traveling to Srilanka on a reunion cum adventure trip. We chose our partner as IamSriLanka (for hotel and travel-flights we had booked independently) and that was the best decision we could have made. Before the trip had started, Dilani had helped me getting my Visa approval from the SL embassy which was stuck for some reason. She was extremely helpful right from the beginning in assisting us with the plan and travel iterations we had gone through. Must Do itinerary for people YOUNG AT HEART in Srilanka: I am going to write a detailed review of our trip, it''ll be long but I hope it will be pleasing read to all the readers. Day 1 (Fri): After landing at Colombo, we were greeted well by Mr. Chinthaka (amazing person) who was our driver cum guide. Did a bit of city tour, most of the day we were stuck in heavy traffic so couldn't do much. Later in the evening, we had gone to Bally's Casino; one of the biggest attractions in Colombo. It had a wonderful vibe to it, all the live performances were sensational. The crowd was amazing, food-drinks are complimentary and minimum buy-in is dirt cheap with 100LKR on some roulette tables. Fortunately, we made some money. A good start to the trip :* Best part about the casino is the late night FREE drop to the guests' hotels. Kingsbury (restaurant) and Galle Face Road are also a treat to watch. Our hotel was GSH Colombo- decent budget hotel, great location but with limited breakfast options. Day 2 (Sat): Started a bit late from Colombo towards Kandy, got even more late due to traffic. Reached Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage. Nice place to see a lot of elephants eating, enjoying bath in the river. Later, we had stayed for half hour in spice garden. They had given us brief on naturally grown and hand-made medicines to cure day-to-day health issues. Then we had headed to Kandy, city was lively; full of tourists in flea market. Someone in dying minutes we managed to sneak in Temple Tooth Relic (UNESCO) site-a place of significance to Buddhists. We stayed at Liyya Residence, which I would say was a average hotel, location was far from city with just the basic hotel amenities. Not cool for honeymoon travelers. We missed "cultural show', gem museum due to time constraints. Day 3(Sun): Started early after having breakfast at local market which served amazing SriLankan veg food. Best food we have had in the entire trip. A paradise for veggies. Must try Porridge (both green and brown) and all the snacks which they serve. Then we headed to "Glenloch" tea factory, good place and they nicely explain tea manufacturing process. Next we went to Hanuman Temple, which we on the way. In the afternoon, we reached Nuwara Eliya aka Little England. The weather was cold as it is a hill-station, the town had golf course, race course and other attraction. The entire route was scenic, lush green and weather was pleasant. We also sent few minutes at the Sita Devi Temple, crossed Ashok Vatika, Ravana waterfalls and Caves. Alternatively, river rafting, cave expedition and train journey to Nuwara can be done. We stayed in 'Peacock Reach Hotel' near Yala, it was decent hotel with pool and amenities. Day 4(Mon): We had started early for Yala National Park Safari. 5-5:30am is the best time to reach at the gate. Queues are long and forest department are doing a great job maintaining the wildlife reserve. Being a nature buff, I loved the safari. We saw crocodiles, deer, elephants, wild boar, wild buffalo, mongoose and 7-8 species of birds (Srilankan National Bird also). The only thing we couldn't see was Leopard :(. Later we went to Galle Fort Area. Great place to shop, it has lot of tasty food joints, built in Dutch Style and the entire place a nice vibe to it. That day we stayed at Nor Lanka hotel in Unawantuna. Superb location, great host (Norwegian settled in SL), we loved the complimentary ice, snacks and soft drinks :). Day 5(Tue): Again we had started early from hotel to Mirissa for whale & dolphin watching. Ferry leaves the coast at sharp 7am. We extremely lucky to see at least 6-7 blue whales and saw close to 40-50 dolphins. It was the best moment of the trip for most of us !!! Later we went to Hikkaduwa, where we relaxed by the beach-side restaurant called 'Mamas', great sunset view is guaranteed !! We stayed at Earl's Reef, the best hotel we had stayed so far in the trip. Beach facing with all the amenities. Must stay for all :).. We had planned water-sports but had to shift it to last day. Missed Jungle Boat Safari! Day 6(Wed): Started early for Scuba diving (all were going for the first time), again we were lucky enough to find conducive weather for Scuba diving. We spotted coral reef, lobster and 5-6 different types of fish. Overall good experience then only minus we couldn't manage to take underwater pics :/ However, it will always remain fresh in our memories :P. That was the last thing for the trip which will remain very close to our hearts in the years to come. Constructive Feedback: (1) After reaching the Casino we came to know that almost every hotel in Colombo gets free scratch coupons. In which, there are some guaranteed free chips. We were not knowing this, please make sure you inform the travelers and hotel guys about this. (2) We had to somewhat struggle to find good veg food. All were veggies, make sure you have a big list of restaurants that serves good veg food. I know SL is famous for its seafood but none of us eat non-veg. Srilanka is truly beautiful and perfect place for wildlife enthusiasts, beach lovers, gamblers and for many adventure sport freak !! Make your vacations great again :P Special thanks to IamSrilanka team, Dilani and Chinthaka. You guys were very helpful :) With Love, Subham Maheshwari Disha Agarwal Geetanshu Bhatia Hitaishi Kothari Ravi Sharma
Trip to Sri LankaIt was a fun trip with my family. We enjoyed a lot. but as already discussed with Mr. Deepak from your team regarding the mis-communication with one of the hotel - Thuruliya Lodge, Nuwara eliya which was recommended by me but the rooms were not upto the standard and the food options were limited compared to the other hotels we stayed. Since i was travelling with my family i had to upgrade the rooms the very next day. When i spoke to the agent, i was assured that it was all fine and we need not worry. But while checking out we have to pay extra for the upgrade. And there was no communication from your end too. We had no other option than to pay. This is a serious mis-communication from your part too. Please look into these issue. Overall we had a good time, Dishan our guide was very co-operative and guided the tour well. Best memories - Nuwara Eliya city also know as little England, its a beautiful place and has cool weather even during the summers. 19th century post office, British era buildings and houses are still maintained, its a must visit.
Trip to Sri LankaA fantastic tour operator who catered for my families every need. Always was happy to help and had gave very useful information and tips about the trip . thank you for some awesome memories Sigriya rock walk was out of this world although a little scary . Bentota was beautiful . Loved the contrast in weather with a short trip to Little England ,Eliya .
Trip to Sri LankaThank you very much to Travel Triangle & Amara Lanka for a wonderful & memorable stay at the Island. Mr Indika, the Chauffeur was excellent and patient enough to take us around Bentota, kandy and Colombo City tour for 3 days. We enjoyed his company as well as the sight seeing. Madhu River Safari was awesome. Overall a good experience and memorable holidays. Thank you once again. For the future travellers, we advice to stay one day at Kandy & Bentota, instead of stay at Colombo. One Night stay in Colombo should be sufficient, may an extended night stay at Little England.
Trip to Sri LankaVery efficient service provided and prompt response to all our queries. The visit to Nuwara Eliya(little England) was the highlight of the trip. Also the drive looking at all the waterfalls was very enjoyable.
Trip to Sri LankaTravelTriangle is a good portal wherein we get an opportunity to receive quotes from several tour operators and able to compare and negotiate the package to our requirements. The Little England (Nuwara Eliya) was amazing and a beautiful place with all the tea estates around and good weather for an holiday. The arrangements made by Dilra Tours were remarkable, Mr. Rachitha the MD himself came to receive us at the airport and our guide Mr. Chathura was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic to show us around.
