How to Reach Aina Mahal in Kutch

The Aina Mahal or the Hall of Mirrors’ is located in Maharav of Kutch, Darbargadh, Bhuj, and Gujarat. It is set on the western shore of the Hamirsar Lake. It is easy to locate and a stroll in the beautiful bazaars of Bhuj will eventually lead you to the palace.

The Pune Bhuj express, The Ala Hazrat Express, the Be Bhuj Express, the BDTS Bhuj Express and the Kutch Express connect the major cities of India to Bhuj, via the Bhuj Railway station. These run almost every day and are easy to access. So, book your tickets accordingly.

Located about three kilometres out of the town, The Bhuj Airport is a one-runway airport. Jet Airways and Air India to all major Indian Towns connect it. There are taxis aplenty, which will take you to your destination within Bhuj.

Gujarat has a well-developed road system, which makes road travel very easy. This along with the bus service of the Gujrat State Transport system makes access to Bhuj very easy. Private travel operators also ply buses to the town making it accessible by road. There are taxis too which you can hire from any major city to Bhuj for a nominal price.

The Kandia Port is one of the busiest ports in the west coast of India and is located in proximity to Bhuj. For a traveller wanting a different experience, a trip by the sea, a cruise on a yacht or a ship, is an experience by itself.

Once in Bhuj, hire an auto rikshaw to take you around the town and show you the sights.

The best time to travel to Bhuj is between October to March. This is when the temperatures are comparatively cooler.

Aina Mahal is easy to reach by an auto rikshaw or by foot within the town. The palace, or parts of the palace which are open to public, is open to visitors from 9 AM to 12 Noon and from 3 PM to 6 PM every day. There is a nominal entrance fee applicable.

Few points would like to highlight with respect to the Travel agent and the hotel provided at Vadodara 1. We expect proactive agent who updates the customer in a timely manner and not the other way around. We were clueless of the driver details when we landed in Ahmedabad and there was no sign of d

river information for us to contact, we had to contact back the agent who in turn arranged a different driver at the 11th hour. The driver had to go back to his house to collect his clothes and other belongings. 2. This is with respect to the hotel provided at Vadodara where frequent power cuts would create lot of nuisance as we had to contact the hotel staff eachbtome and they too weren't so cooperative until we had to give them monetary tip. The boiler wasn't working for early morning bath. In all the staff attitude n service were below par. We enjoyed the the Diu experience as the beach was in close proximity to the hotel provided.

Couple of feedback about vehicle Driver needs to be more sensitized about using horns too much usage of horns irritating the traveller's and other vehicles on the road. This might lead to clashes. The travller had a speed lock of 80 kms due to which travel time was very high. Wasting lot of time. W

e were not made aware of this. Vehicle AC vents were not functioning properly. The middle 2 vents had issues. Driver as a person was very good. Driver as a person was good and had idea about the places to visit. Also never disagreed for any request. Hotels and restaurants were clean and tidy.
