Manali Honeymoon Package From Chennai

Rated by 2,585 verified travellers. Trusted by 40 Lac+ happy travellers since 2011.
Manali honeymoon packages from Chennai start at Rs 12,499 per person, fully customisable, with 24x7 on-trip support.

A Manali honeymoon package from Chennai trades the coastal heat for pine air, snow points and quiet resort evenings, and the confirmed starting price is Rs 12,499 per person for a 4 Days / 3 Nights couple trip. These are honeymoon-first plans: 3-star stays chosen for privacy, a Solang or Rohtang snow day, and the option to add a candlelight dinner. Chennai is far from the valley, so most couples fly to Delhi or Chandigarh in under three hours and continue by overnight Volvo, and every itinerary is built to start from your city and your travel dates in 2026.

Why Couples Choose Manali From Chennai

Manali works for a honeymoon because the romantic and the adventurous sit close together. You can spend a morning on the Solang ropeway and the afternoon over coffee in an old Manali cafe, then watch snow settle on the deodars from your room. From Chennai it is a genuine change of world: you leave a coastal city at sea level and wake up two mornings later in a valley at 2,000 metres. The trip needs a little planning because there is no direct flight or train, but the payoff is a real winter honeymoon that a beach break cannot match. Couples from Chennai consistently pair Manali with a Solang snow day and a Rohtang or Atal Tunnel excursion, which is exactly how these packages are shaped. For deeper background on the valley, read the Manali travel guide.

How To Reach Manali From Chennai

By flight (fastest)

There is no direct flight to Manali, so the quickest route is a flight from Chennai to Delhi or Chandigarh, both about 2 hours 45 minutes, then an overnight Volvo or cab to the valley. Delhi to Manali is roughly 535 km and 12 to 14 hours by road; Chandigarh is closer at about 310 km and 8 to 9 hours, so many couples fly to Chandigarh to shave off a few hours. Return airfares from Chennai typically run around Rs 9,000 to Rs 16,000 depending on season and how early you book.

By flight to Bhuntar (Kullu-Manali airport)

You can fly closest to the valley by connecting to Bhuntar (Kullu-Manali airport), about 50 km from Manali, with cabs waiting for the final 90-minute stretch. Direct connectivity from Chennai is limited and fares swing, so this suits couples who want to save a full travel day on a shorter 4-night honeymoon and do not mind a connecting flight.

By train

Manali has no railway station. From Chennai the usual pattern is a train to Delhi (Nizamuddin or Hazrat Nizamuddin) or to Chandigarh, then a Volvo or cab into the hills. The Chennai to Delhi rail journey runs close to two days, so most honeymooners treat the train as a scenic budget leg and pair it with a longer 6N or 7N package rather than a short getaway.

Whichever gateway you pick, book the Delhi or Chandigarh to Manali Volvo a few days ahead in peak season, when overnight seats sell out. Your package can be arranged to start from either gateway.

What Is Included On A Manali Honeymoon From Chennai

A honeymoon package covers the essentials so you can travel light and spend the trip together rather than organising it. The couple-specific extras below are what set a honeymoon package apart from a standard tour.

Usually included Usually not included
3-star hotel stays on twin sharing Chennai to Delhi / Chandigarh flights or train
Airport or bus-stop transfers and sightseeing by private cab Adventure activities (paragliding, skiing, zorbing)
Daily breakfast, and dinner on most packages Rohtang Pass permit and Rohtang taxi charges
A honeymoon setup on request (welcome drink, room decoration) Lunches, entry tickets and personal expenses

On request, most resorts arrange a private candlelight dinner, a decorated honeymoon room, and a cake for the first or last night. These are popular couple add-ons rather than default inclusions, so mention them when you customise and your agent will build them into the quote.

Sample 4-Night Honeymoon Itinerary

This is a typical 4 Days / 3 Nights shape that couples from Chennai follow. Days can be swapped, and the plan shifts slightly depending on your gateway and the season.

Day Plan
Day 1 Fly Chennai to Delhi or Chandigarh, board the overnight Volvo to Manali.
Day 2 Arrive Manali, check in and rest. Evening walk on Mall Road and old Manali cafes.
Day 3 Solang Valley for the ropeway and snow play, then Hadimba Devi Temple and Vashisht springs.
Day 4 Rohtang Pass or Atal Tunnel and Sissu day trip, weather permitting, then a Kullu or Naggar stop.
Day 5 Drive back to the gateway for your return flight or train to Chennai.

Prefer a specific route? Open the Kullu Manali honeymoon from Chennai itinerary, or ask an agent to add Manikaran, Kasol or a second night at Solang.

Romantic Things To Do In Manali For Couples

Van Vihar honeymoon walk: a shaded riverside cedar park in the heart of Manali, a short hand-in-hand stroll that couples rate as the most low-key romantic spot in town.

Solang Valley ropeway and snow play: the cable car and meadows at Solang are the easiest snow-and-views half day, with zorbing and paragliding for couples who want a thrill.

Candlelight dinner and a decorated room: most resorts arrange a private dinner on request, a favourite for the first or last night of the honeymoon.

Vashisht hot springs and old temples: warm sulphur springs and a quiet evening walk a short hop from town, away from the day crowds.

Atal Tunnel and Sissu day trip: drive through the tunnel to Sissu for Lahaul views and riverside snow, a favourite couple excursion when Rohtang is closed.

Naggar Castle and old Manali cafes: a slower, romantic day of heritage and valley views, then riverside cafes above the Manu temple made for a lazy honeymoon morning.

Best Time For A Manali Honeymoon And Ideal Duration

For most couples, March to June is the sweet spot. Days sit around 10 to 25 degrees Celsius, a real relief after Chennai, and evenings are cool enough for a bonfire. It is the best window for Rohtang Pass and for paragliding or river rafting. If you want snowfall together, December to February turns the valley white, with skiing and snow scooters at Solang and sub-zero nights made for a warm room. Avoid the July to September monsoon for honeymoon travel, when landslides can disrupt the higher roads.

On length, a 4 Days / 3 Nights package covers Manali, Solang and one big excursion without hurrying, and it is the length most Chennai couples choose. Because the journey is long, factor in the travel days on each side. Add Shimla and you are looking at a 6-night trip. For a full month-by-month breakdown, see the Manali travel guide.

Places To Visit On A Manali Honeymoon

Solang Valley (about 14 km) is the go-to for couples: ropeway rides, zorbing, paragliding and easy snow in season. Rohtang Pass (about 51 km) holds snow much of the year and is the classic high-mountain day, weather permitting. Closer in, the cedar-wood Hadimba Devi Temple (about 2 km) and the walk to Jogini Falls from Vashisht make gentle half-days. Day trips to Naggar Castle (about 22 km) and to Kullu and Manikaran add heritage and hot springs. Full timings and directions are in the Manali travel guide.

How To Choose The Right Honeymoon Package

By trip length: pick a 4N/3N Manali-only package for a first, focused honeymoon; choose a 6N/5N Shimla plus Manali tour if you want two hill stations and a slower pace.

By budget: the confirmed entry point is Rs 12,499 per person for the Kullu Manali couple trip; flights from Chennai are usually extra, so budget those separately.

By interest: adventure-leaning couples should weight Solang and Rohtang days; couples wanting calm should weight Van Vihar, Naggar, Vashisht and cafe time.

By season: travel December to February only if you want snow and cold; for green valleys and full Rohtang access, go March to June.

What To Pack

Even in summer, Manali evenings are cold, and after Chennai the change is sharp, so both of you will want layers. Carry:

• Warm layers: a heavy jacket each, thermals and gloves for snow points, even in summer.

• Comfortable walking shoes with grip for Solang, Jogini and any short trek.

• Sunscreen, lip balm and sunglasses, since mountain sun is strong.

• A power bank and offline maps, because the network can be patchy above Manali.

• ID copies and your package voucher, plus cash for local rides and entry points.

Sudatta's 8 days trip to Manali

Overall, the trip was good. However driver assigned was not professional. At certain places there were rash drivings. Coming to the accommodation, the hotels were well chosen. Especially the one for manali and dalhousie were the best with mesmerising scenic views. However for the hotel in dharmashal
a, the room was not provided as agreed before the trip and we had to face a lot of issues. Overall, the trip was memorable. However, would suggest improvements in terms of assigning good drivers, since thats also an essential part of the trip. Accommodation for manali and dalhousie was too good. Solang valley visit was memorable.

  • Carry heavy woollens to travel Manali during winter. It is best to carry thermals and inners during the freezing temperatures in winters in the town.
  • For trekkers and hikers, investing in a good pair of shoes is a must. To avoid slipping on the snow-covered passes and treks, a fitting shoe with a good grasp is the best to wear.
