Madurai Honeymoon Packages

Honeymoon in Madurai: rated 4.1/5 (based on 33 reviews) | Packages starting from ₹14,449/-

Madurai, the city that never sleeps, is located in Tamil Nadu and is 3rd most populous city in the state. The heritage and culture of this city is its USP and be assured about having the best time after booking Madurai honeymoon packages. The city of Madurai is also known as the “Athens of the East” due to the similarity in the style of architecture with Athens. The city attracts pilgrims as well as tourists.

Madurai was built around the Meenakshi Amman Temple and is therefore the major attraction and the top place to visit. The temple has been in existence for nearly 3500 years. The temple is huge and also contains 1000 pillared hall, shrines, pond with the golden lotus and much more to explore. The exact word to define this temple would be ‘marvellous’ and the sheer structure of the temple is jaw-dropping.

The festivals are the focal point of the culture of Madurai. The vibrance and magnificence of Madurai is easily showcased in the spirit of the people during the festive period. Pongal Festival ( Harvest Festival) in January and Chithirai Festival in March/April are some key festivals. Also a very controversial yet integral part of the Ponagal festival is Jallikatttu in which men and bulls are pitted against each other. Be sure to witness this daring sport when in Madurai.

The time when the travel to Madurai would be most suitable is from October till April when the weather is just right and festivals are commencing. The monsoon season starts from late April and travelling to the southern india should be avoided to excessive rains and humidity in the monsoon. The journey will be more enjoyable after purchasing customisable couple tour packages to Madurai.

Reaching Madurai is a piece of cake as Madurai has its own airport as well as railway junction making it accessible by train and air, and has great connectivity with all the parts of India via roads. The nearest international airport is in Chennai which is 440 km away. Booking honeymoon tour packages to Madurai will be more beneficial and time conserving.

Noopur's 5 days trip to Tamil Nadu

I had booked a 5 day trip to Tamilnadu which included Madurai -1 day, Rameshwaram - 2 days, Kanyakumari-2 days for family of 4 people. Booked my trip through sky tours and travels. Kanchan from the team was helping me with all the bookings. The hotels booked in Madurai and Rameshwaram were very nice. But the Hotel in Kanyakumari (Hotel Sun Park) was very bad, the restaurant was pathetic. Although the Jiwan Residency in Rameshwaram was awesome. Had really good time there. Everything else about the trip was very good. The Cab was very neat. My parents have the problem of vomiting in long rides but the Cab was very clean and parents had smooth ride. The driver was very professional and we'll behaved. The time spent at dhanushkodi was memorable.

The hotel Ashoka at Rameshwarm was new but room was very small having very little space to move around also the food was not good The taxi was not upto the standard although the driver was very good The trip was planned by Ms Mega very effectively and we could able to see all places as planned

Kaushikneeladri's 4 days trip to Tamil Nadu

I work in Australia and came to India on a 1-month Holiday. I contacted Travel Triangle for a South India trip covering major pilgrim cities. We were delighted with the quick response and packages we received. Bhargavi took personal care of designing the package to suit our needs and gave us exactly what we needed and assisted us at each and every turn. Package was booked and we made our journey. The hotel accommodations provided were top notch and lived up to the standard. Especially driver Pandiaraj was exactly the type of tour guide cum driver we needed. He took great care of our group as we had elderly people in the group. He was very knowledgeable of all south Indian cities and was quite flexible to our needs. With all this, we had the best pilgrimage experience which we'll remember for years to come. This is our second trip with Travel Triangle and this won't be the last. Thank you Bhargavi and thanks Travel Triangle for a memorable trip! 1. Flexible driver and tour guide, Pandiaraj, who tailored the trip as per our changing needs each day. 2. Special darshan in most of the temples with limited wait times with due to the right contacts the travel agent had. 3. Madurai's special 'Jigarthanda' :-) 4. Beaches and Poovar Island 5. Our stay at Hotel Star Residency in Madurai and Hotel Ashoka in Rameswaram. 6. Superb views from Dhanush Kodi of where Bay of Bengal and Indian Ocean meet. 7. Sunset and sunrise views in Kanyakumari

    Soundararajan Kaliappanadar

Soundararajan's 5 days trip to Dubai

We had an enjoyable nice tour to Dubai (Booking ID 6324644) under coordination of Travel Triangle and guided by Dream Travels from 25th to 30th Dec 2019. This was our first customized tour abroad, designed for 5 of our family members including ladies and children. The organisers had nice terms with their representatives at Dubai who tracked us always with sincere and watchful eyes with exclusive WhatsApp group all along the days and so we got instructions and clarifications instantly by which we felt very homely with their hospitality. Thanks to Mrs. Kajol of Dream Travels, Bangalore for her frequent enquiries then and there, rectifying everything in no time. Hats off to her best service to the clients to make the trip memorable and most enjoyable. With regards K.Soundararajan Madurai, Tamilnad

    Pooja Maheshwari

Pooja's 8 days trip to Kerala

I initially had communication with multiple travel agents through travel triangle, I then finally chose Be Touristo after talking to Mr. Anuj who was extremely helpful throughout the trip and helped us in customizing the trip. This was my first time with travel triangle and Be Touristo, my Kerala and Tamil Nadu trip was from 21st Oct 2019 to 30th Oct 2019 with Munnar (2D) -> Alleppey (1D) -> Kovalam (2D) -> Kanyakumari (1D) -> Rameshwaram (2D) -> Madurai (1D). Cab Driver was decent and very polite, I wish he knew more of English/Hindi. I wish all hotels could support WIFI. Hotel at Kovalam was "unwind", full marks to location but it wasn't like hotel and more like old house turned to hotel room with no coffee/tea maker. Alleppey House boat and its staff members were amazing with beautiful view. Location of hotels were city center only and cab driver used to take to the sight seeing points. Travel Agent - 5 * Cab Driver and Service - 5* (we had some problem with some smell in the car, but Anuj and his team got that solved) Hotel - 3.5* I would like to recommend everyone Be Touristo for Kerala trip.

There is no shortage of tourist places in Madurai. Tirumalai Nayak Palace is a one splendid attraction in Madurai. Built in 1636, this palace has seen some rough times and has been renovated majorly. There is a light and sound show every evening which should not be missed. There is also Gandhi Memorial Museum in Madurai which contains several items owned by MK Gandhi. To beat the hustle bustle of this city, one might want to visit the Samanar hills located in Keelakuyilkudi village, 15 kilometres from Madurai. Travellers might  also want to visit the St. Mary’s Cathedral which is located in East Veli Street in Madurai. The hymns and carols will soothe and calm the body and mind.

There is no such nightlife in Madurai but the city compensates for this in the form of Puthu Mandapam located opposite to the Meenakshi temple east tower which sells fabric, scarves, jewellery, fashion accessories, handicrafts and artworks. The shoppers are swept off their feet by the rich quality and the affordable prices. Add a visit to this marketplace in your customised Madurai honeymoon package. If one goes bananas over bananas then do give a visit to the Madurai’s banana wholesale market to purchase different varieties of bananas.

Travelling without trying out the local cuisine is a sin. Make sure to try paruthi paal, jigarthanda, panangkarkandu paal and chettinadu varieties like appam, kuzhi paniyaram, etc when you travel to Madurai. Also refresh the body with jil jil jigarthanda,a drink, prepared using milk, china grass (Commonly known as "Kadal Paasi" in Tamil), sarsaparilla syrup and ice-cream. Do not forget to stop by at Murugan Idli Shop to have lip-smacking and mind-boggling dosas and idlis.

As this city never sleeps, this city never disappoints. Travel to Madurai and witness the grandeur and brilliance of this city, the enthusiasm and unity of the people, and the power and strength of their culture. Take out time and visit this ageless city of Madurai where lies the soul of Tamil Nadu.
