Madurai Honeymoon Packages

Madurai Honeymoon Packages: rated 4.1/5 (based on 56 reviews) | Packages starting from ₹14,449/-

Madurai Honeymoon Packages

Madurai, the city that never sleeps, is located in Tamil Nadu and is 3rd most populous city in the state. The heritage and culture of this city is its USP and be assured about having the best time after booking Madurai honeymoon packages.
The city of Madurai is also known as the “Athens of the East” due to the similarity in the style of architecture with Athens. The city attracts pilgrims as well as tourists.

Madurai was built around the Meenakshi Amman Temple and is therefore the major attraction and the top place to visit. The temple has been in existence for nearly 3500 years. The temple is huge and also contains 1000 pillared hall, shrines, pond with the golden lotus and much more to explore. The exact word to define this temple would be ‘marvellous’ and the sheer structure of the temple is jaw-dropping.

The festivals are the focal point of the culture of Madurai. The vibrance and magnificence of Madurai is easily showcased in the spirit of the people during the festive period. Pongal Festival ( Harvest Festival) in January and Chithirai Festival in March/April are some key festivals. Also a very controversial yet integral part of the Ponagal festival is Jallikatttu in which men and bulls are pitted against each other. Be sure to witness this daring sport when in Madurai.

The time when the travel to Madurai would be most suitable is from October till April when the weather is just right and festivals are commencing. The monsoon season starts from late April and travelling to the southern india should be avoided to excessive rains and humidity in the monsoon. The journey will be more enjoyable after purchasing customisable couple tour packages to Madurai.

Reaching Madurai is a piece of cake as Madurai has its own airport as well as railway junction making it accessible by train and air, and has great connectivity with all the parts of India via roads. The nearest international airport is in Chennai which is 440 km away. Booking honeymoon tour packages to Madurai will be more beneficial and time conserving.

Manpreet's 6 days trip to Tamil Nadu

I recently booked the trip and covered Madurai, Rameshwaram, Kanyakumari and Kovalam. This was my 3rd trip via Travel Triangle The booking process was smooth. Travel agent customized as per my needs, adjusting Hotels. Trip was good and memorable. Driver was punctual, covered all the places. However there were 2 things which were not upto the mark. Driver didn't know Hindi and had very limited knowledge of English, so there was communication barrier. Kovalam was planned on Monday, on which some tourist places are closed. We got to know this only upon reaching there. Dhanushkodi point and Kovalam beach

Overall we had good trip because of good driver Mr Anand S. Glad that we got early check in MGM Gardens Madurai with cooperation from Mr Sahil. The hotel in Rameshwaram was too small to accommodate 3 persons. 1 being a 10 yr kid. Overall we are satisfied with this trip. Murugan temple Madurai, Danushkodi, Pamban bridge and Vivekanand memorial rock at Kanyakumari.

Hemanthkumar's 5 days trip to Tamil Nadu

Hotel arrangements were good, itinerary planning was customized based on our request. Dream yatra planned it well for our Madurai, Rameswaram and Kanyakumari trip. Booked hotels were good and as described by agent. Hotel staff were also kind and helpful. Driver booked was local to Tamilnadu and we had some difficult time in communicating, he knew broken Hindi, which helped sometimes. But was disappointed as the driver did not know the full itinerary planned by agent, he had his list of destinations which were mix of what we had planned and something of his own, like shopping centres for sarees. Overall it was a very good experience, but I would recommend agents to properly inform the drivers on their itinerary.

Aparnna's 6 days trip to Tamil Nadu

The hotels were good except MSP Grand hotel of Madurai. It was the filthiest hotel I have ever come across. The room was also too small to accommodate 2+1 guests. Also the did not provide a blanket with the extra mattress. And the pillow was covered with fungus. The hotel didn't have any parking space neither any facility for the driver. I would not give even 1 rating to that hotel. As regards the driver he was a decent person , but I had asked for a driver who could also act as a guide and help us to plan our day. But this driver didn't know the places nor the timings of these places. Imagine he didn't even know about Auroville. He would just say tell me where you want to go, he would then put the directions on the Google map and take us there. So we had to plan our day ourselves and it resulted in reaching the places when it was closed. So that was a great disappointment

Amol's 6 days trip to Tamil Nadu

Not kind of experience tour should have. (********Also All the hotels were booked with complementary breakfast for all 4. The reference for the same will be come below in my review. do read it carefully). Though the tour started on positive notes it went down and down day by day.. We wanted to get freshen up as we had been travelling whole night. We visited Poovar Island after starting the trip at 6:00 AM in the morning. We started with nice tour of the Island after freshening up and after island tour started for our first destination Kanyakumari at around 10:30 AM. This is where first twist to our tour started. Driver told me that his agent has asked for cab money to be transferred as soon as we reach hotel. I was surprised to hear this as I had booked the tour from some other agent(Through Travel Triangle) and why cab agency was asking amount for. I knew the balance amount was to be paid on first day of starting the tour however in place of Travel Triangle asking the amount I was asked by sub agent and that too only for cab. Not sure when trip was booked from Travel Triangle how sub agency is asking amount for. When checked with my agent he asked to pay the amount and sent me watsapp message with breakup of amount to be transferred in below way: Cab: Rs. xxxxx Kovalam: Rs. xxxx Madurai: Rs. xxxx I summed up all the amount and paid to Cab agent directly as there was no clear instruction as only cab amount was to be paid to cab agent and other amount was to be paid directly to the hotels. After multiple discussions it was decided cab agency will pay for rest of my hotels in Madurai and Kovalam as I had settled my dues. On reaching Madurai after day long travel and sight seeing at 8:30 PM next twist awaited for us. On visiting reception to do check in formalities, the formalities were completed however the staff there told me that booking amount has to be paid before check in and I was totally lost as what is this happening? I am travelling whole day cleared all my dues to the travel agent and he haven't paid the amount to the hotel? The hotel should had receive amount well in advance and I should had been room as soon as the formalities were over. instead I had to call my agent, then sub agent and then all things got sorted out which took another 15-20 mins. Next morning started pretty as usual however another turn was awaiting for me. *****While having breakfast, on table my little one was having breakfast along with me, my wife and my elder child and suddenly one person came and told me that complementary breakfast is only for 3 of us and for my younger child I need to pay the amount. My younger one is not so small that she will not understand what was going on and suddenly she stopped eating. I told the person that we will pay and asked younger one to continue. This is not the way one need to tell us on the breakfast table that we need to pay the amount. this need to be told prior or while settling dues. However when I went for payment the reception staff only asked for payment for the beverages we ordered in room. On enquiring for breakfast amount they told that it was misunderstanding and it was for some other guests and not for us. But again this is not the way to treat the guests when on breakfast table. We started our next leg of trip with the sourness already put in by the Madurai hotel restaurant staff. On the way to Kovalam we visited Maharaja Swathi Thirunal Palace which is huge and then checked in the hotel. Went to the beach in the evening and enjoyed there. Next day before starting for final leg all dues were cleared at the hotel reception however next Hurdle awaited us. As soon as we boarded our CAB the hotel employee came running and stopped us from starting as balance payment was not made by the agent. We had to call the agent multiple times before the payment was cleared, and had to wait in scorching heat for almost 45 mins before we started(this was not expected at all even after making full payment guests are kept on the toes). Finally after starting visited zoo, museum, however were not able to visit Padmanabhswamy temple due to huge rush. The temple opened at 5:00 PM however the rush was soo heavy that the driver as well as couple of locals told us that it would take min 4-4.5 hrs for darshan in normal line and atleast 3 hrs in special line. Also locals told that if the darshan timings are over we can wait for next morning darshan in line. Keeping in mind the time for darshan and travel back we decided against the same. Also it was wise decision keeping in mind the hectic tour younger daughter's age and as it rained heavily as soon as we reached airport. Now to Hotels: 1. Kanyakumari-- Nice hotel with sea view. Was able to see the monuments from my room. However I had booked for family couple with one child without bed and one with extra mattress, I was not provided extra mattress in the room and 4 had to adjust on same bed.(Was ok as we had just 1 night) 2. Rameswaram: 1st room provided was having lot of bugs and cockroaches in the room. My room was changed after discussion with manager and showing them the cockroaches roaming even on beds. 2nd room provided was also having same issue however number was very less comparatively. Had to be cautious that bugs or cockroaches do not enter my luggage or eatables. 2 nights stay was ok kind of. 3. Madurai: Room provided was ok as we checked in there very late evening(almost around 8.00 PM). However main twist came here when we were told that balance amount has not been paid and checkin would be possible only after balance payment. Also as mentioned in the main details while having breakfast, at the table I was told the amount need to be paid for breakfast for my younger child(which was already been paid and was complementary for all 4 of us) due to which she suddenly stopped having her breakfast and I had to tell her to have her breakfast properly and not to worry for other things. This was ridiculous as other guests also started staring at us on hearing this. The staff might have told same thing in person before or after finishing breakfast. Even before speaking they should had checked at reception where amount was already paid. 4. Kovalam: We had to request for room on the upper floor having sea view. However the sea view was not visible from there too as the hotel is in too interior and the view is blocked by other buildings standing infront. Not the kind of room we would have liked to stay. very old kind of room with A/c not operational. Even on keeping it 16 degree the room was not getting cooled. Finally.. The trip was not at all well organized and I will give Poor rating for over all trip and would not recommend this to any of the family members and known people.

I have booked a package with travel triangle and visited places Madhurai, Rameshwaram, Kanyakumari and Trivandrum. The process was clearly explained and itenrary was given as per our requirement. We have got an excellent driver named Hussain. To my surprise he was very knowledgeable explaining about the history and importance of the places a d temples we have visited. He had never wanted our time and always shows up on time. We have travelled along with my grandmother aged 85 and never faced any issues due to the driver who managed to drop and pick up at nearest or least walking distances. We managed to cover the below places in our 4 night 5 days trip. We were total 8 ( along with my 85 years grand mother and 3 years kid) Madurai (Hotel Rajadhane) 1. Meenakshi and Sundareshwar Temple 2. Thirumala Nayakkar Mahal 3. Gandhi memorial museum 4. Vandiyur Mariamman Teppakulam 5. Lord Murugan Pzhalamudir solai 6. Azhagar koyil Rameshwaram (Hotel Rameshwaram Grand) 1. Abdul Kalam Memorial 2. Lakshmana teertham 3. Panchamukha anjaneyar 4. Floating stones shrine 5. Natarajan temple 6. Rama teertham 7. House of Abdul Kalaam 8. Kalaam sea shell Mart (Shopping at govt complex) 9. Dhanushkodi 10. Kodandarama temple 11. Rameshwaram temple Kanyakumari (Hotel Gopinivas grand) 1. Vattakotti fort 2. Sunset point 3. Musical fountain 4. Sunrise point 5. Kanyakumari amman temple 6. Vivekananda Rock memorial 7. Thiruvalluvar statue Poovar, Kovalam & Trivandrum (Hotel Golden sands resort, kovalam) 1. Poovar island golden beach and back waters 2. Kovalam beach 3. Anantha padmanabhan temple Many thanks to travel triangle, postcard trip and driver Hussain) All the places were best. S's 3 days trip to Kerala

1. Received a call back from only one travel agent. Hence i had to proceed with them only. In the last minute some other agent called and quoted a lesser price. It felt like an auction. 2. I was informed by the agent that the 2nd installment of payment if not made on time the trip would be cancelled by Travel Triangle and the first installment of 10k would not be refunded. I don't understand this policy since already the payments are collected in advance and how can the T&C say that it will not be refunded, trip will be cancelled and stuff? Are you threatening the customers or what? After all its a trip we are planning to have a good time and not all customers are rich enough to forego the 10k and just cancel the trip. 3. We weren't informed about the timings and token system and the crowd in Periyar Tiger reserve. We had to waste 3 full hours there just waiting to get tickets. I dint google about anything because i assumed that the travel agent is there to assist with the itinerary and timings. We were disappointed about this part. 4. The cab driver was helpful during most part of the trip. However during drop in Madurai, since he had to drive back to his place for 7 hours he rushed us up too much. We were understanding of it and did leave early from Thekkady. But i made it clear enough while booking the trip the drop is in Madurai. 5. The patio had very good reviews online. But we dint like it. The room given to us was not clean. And the restaurant had both veg and non veg with heavy smell of meat. So we had to spend extra inspite of breakfast being complimentary. Vagamon stay in Winter vale, Vagamon meadows and Thekkady jeep safari

There is no shortage of tourist places in Madurai. Tirumalai Nayak Palace is a one splendid attraction in Madurai. Built in 1636, this palace has seen some rough times and has been renovated majorly. There is a light and sound show every evening which should not be missed. There is also Gandhi Memorial Museum in Madurai which contains several items owned by MK Gandhi. To beat the hustle bustle of this city, one might want to visit the Samanar hills located in Keelakuyilkudi village, 15 kilometres from Madurai. Travellers might  also want to visit the St. Mary’s Cathedral which is located in East Veli Street in Madurai. The hymns and carols will soothe and calm the body and mind.

There is no such nightlife in Madurai but the city compensates for this in the form of Puthu Mandapam located opposite to the Meenakshi temple east tower which sells fabric, scarves, jewellery, fashion accessories, handicrafts and artworks. The shoppers are swept off their feet by the rich quality and the affordable prices. Add a visit to this marketplace in your customised Madurai honeymoon package. If one goes bananas over bananas then do give a visit to the Madurai’s banana wholesale market to purchase different varieties of bananas.

Travelling without trying out the local cuisine is a sin. Make sure to try paruthi paal, jigarthanda, panangkarkandu paal and chettinadu varieties like appam, kuzhi paniyaram, etc when you travel to Madurai. Also refresh the body with jil jil jigarthanda,a drink, prepared using milk, china grass (Commonly known as "Kadal Paasi" in Tamil), sarsaparilla syrup and ice-cream. Do not forget to stop by at Murugan Idli Shop to have lip-smacking and mind-boggling dosas and idlis.

As this city never sleeps, this city never disappoints. Travel to Madurai and witness the grandeur and brilliance of this city, the enthusiasm and unity of the people, and the power and strength of their culture. Take out time and visit this ageless city of Madurai where lies the soul of Tamil Nadu.
