How to Reach Roman Forum

A quick guide on how to reach Roman Forum:

Buses

If you are taking the bus, you can opt for bus 40 express, which takes you through the major sightseeing places. To visit the Roman Forum, this is the bus, which you can take, and it halts at Piazza Venezia.

Metro

You can opt for the underground transportation system or the metro system if you are looking forward for a shorter travel time. To reach the Roman Forum, Line B must be taken which shall go from Termini towards the Lauren Tina Direction and it will take you to the Colosseum.

Rome Pass

Alternatively, you can go for Rome Pass, which is valid for three days and offers unlimited travel across the city. It is priced at 36 Euros and it offers reduced prices on theatres, museums, cinemas and sightseeing places.

Tickets

Tickets to these places are easily available at the newspaper kiosks and vending machines placed near the main stops. You can also obtain them from local news agents or at the metro stations. If you are lucky, you might obtain it on the bus as well.

Walking

You can also walk down and explore the Roman’s cultural and traditional sights. As most of these are at a stone throw distance, if you reach one of the major sights the others will be in the vicinity. Distance is not much so walking might not be boring or cumbersome.

Tickets to visit the Colosseum

You can obtain the combined ticket to explore the Roman Forum, Colosseum and the Palatine. For children less than 17 years and adults more than 65 years, the entrance is free. For Adults, it is 12 Euros and for the members of the European Union, it is 7.50 Euros. Best mode of transportation to reach the place is Line B (Blue Line) of the Metro station.

Hours

It is open every day except for 25 December and 1 January. It opens at 8:30 am and closes one hour before the sunset every day. Traffic is heavy during the peak hours between 7:30 am to 9:00 am and 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm. Beware of pickpockets and carry your valuables with care and safety.
