How To Reach Mysore From Mumbai

By Air: Currently, there are no direct flights to Mysore Airport from Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport in Mumbai. The distance from Mumbai to Mysore by air is 855 kms which can either be covered by taking a connecting flight which increases the time consumed. The other option is to take a direct flight from Mumbai to Bangalore and then taking a bus or a cab to travel to Mysore for about 50 minutes. This option can take around 6 hours which is much faster than taking connecting flights. However, the costs remain high and the use of flights to travel from Mumbai to Mysore is infrequent.

By Train: There are a couple of direct trains that connect Mumbai to Mysore. The distance between Mumbai to Mysore by train is 1062 kms and the time taken can be more or less 22 hours. The two direct trains are Sharavathi Express which operates from Dadar to Mysore junction and the Ajmer Mysore express which starts from Ajmer, passes from Kalyan junction in Mumbai to Mysore Junction. However, these trains are weekly or biweekly. One can also opt for trains connecting Mumbai to Bangalore and then travel from Bangalore to Mysore either by train or Road.

By Road: The Mumbai to Mysore distance by road is around 1045 kms. Most of the journey takes place on national and state Highways which are in excellent condition and allow one to enjoy the change of the surrounding scenery as they travel from countryside to cities. However, travelling from Mumbai to Mysore by car is not recommended as it gets exhausting and also it’s both expensive and time consuming. Driving from Mumbai to Mysore can take 17 to 18 hours. There are many KSRTC buses with AC and other facilities that travel directly from Mumbai to Mysore and can be booked online conveniently.
