Famous for its tribes, Wayanad in Kerala is both a popular weekend gateway for people living close by and a popular destination for people living far too.

 

Delhi to Wayanad by air

The best way to travel to Wayanad from Delhi is by flight. There are two ways to do it, you can take a flight up to Kozhikode and move further by a cab, or you can take a flight up to Bangalore and then a bus or cab. The total time taken on an average is 4 hours by flight only.   

Wayanad to Delhi by Train:

Railway station closest to Wayanad is Kozhikode, located at a distance of 110 km from Wayanad. Almost 10 trains run from Delhi to Kozhikode. Few popular trains are- Mangala-Lakshwadeep SF Expres, Kerala Sampark Kranti. A train on an average takes 46 hours to reach Kozhikode railway station, from where you are advised to take a cab to Wayanad.

Wayanad to Delhi by Road:

 

It is a very long journey from Delhi to Wayanad-considering the distance to be 2527 kilometers. If you want to go by road on a car, it is going to take 38 hours. Best and feasible way is to travel half or more than half of the way by a train or a flight and then take a cab or bus from Bangalore/ Mysore/ Kozhikode.

The travel agent were always available and were easy to contact if any inconvenience happened which was very helpful for us. The car and driver facilities were good and pleasing. The hotels provided for stay at different locations had nice accommodation but slight services and facilities in certain hotels were not so good that could be improved. we had booked for 2 nights in Thekkady and 1 night in Alleppey house boat. The arrangement by Trip Sailer was done very conveniently and the stay was very good especially in Thekkady. Only thing thing I want to highlight is the hotel was hesitating to accept the credit card and later I had to convince them with the 6% service charges for accepting the card. They wanted us to pay in cash or UPI payment. Same thing happened in House boat too. We paid cash payment there. The great thing was the transport. The driver Mr. Joseph was so helpful and became a very good friend of us when leaving.
