Manali and Srinagar are the nearest places to Leh with regular transport. Cabs and buses are available from Manali and Srinagar to Leh. The beautiful landscapes, panoramic views of lakes, and abundance of nature make Leh Ladakh truly a heaven on Earth. Getting to Ladakh is very convenient, as there are multiple options to get there, such as by road or airways. The best time to travel to Ladakh by road is in summer, as during winter the roads might be blocked due to snowfall. Below is detailed information on how to reach Leh Ladakh for your mesmerising trip.

If you’re looking for the quickest way to reach Ladakh, then you can book a flight to Kushok Bakula Rimpochee Airport, the only airport in Leh. Many domestic airlines offer regular flights from Delhi, Mumbai, Jammu, Kolkata, and other major cities in India to Leh. One can choose to travel by the airlines as per time and budget. It is important to know that the security checks at this airport are a little stricter than others, so make sure to carry printed copies of your documents to avoid any inconvenience. Ladakh is approximately 8 km farther from Leh Airport and takes only 20 minutes to reach. One should take a taxi from the airport to reach Ladakh.
By Train

Another nearby railway station is Jammu Tawi Railway Station, at a distance of approximately 668 km from Ladakh, and it connects a large network of trains to major Indian cities. One can then book a cab, taxi, or bus to reach Ladakh for a beautiful travel experience.

Another route is the beautiful Srinagar-Leh Highway, with a total distance of 434 km, which is the least-used way to reach Leh-Ladakh. Most people prefer to take on their bikes and travel with the breathtaking views of mountains and lakes to create a lifetime experience. There is also an option of shared and private jeeps, which is the best option for a comfortable travel experience. For budget travellers, there is an option of buses for a cost-effective trip.
