Because of the entire stretch of water between the two countries, it is quite impossible to avail any other mode of transport than flights, unless there are royal cruisers. But Bangalore is not a port city, and thus airway is the only option from Bangalore to Maldives.

Most Bangalore to Maldives direct flights from India land at capital Male’s Velana International Airport, but Gan Island receives some connecting flights as well. Here is how one can reach Maldives from Bangalore by air, land and sea.

By Air: Given than air travel is the only option for the travellers, there are 8 flights every week to Male, and one connecting Bangalore to Maldives flight via Colombo to Gan International Airport. The direct Bangalore to Maldives flight travel time is 1 hour 55 minutes. It is offered by IndiGo Airlines on Mondays and Thursdays, and Air India on every day of the week except Tuesday. The flight to Gan takes 5 hours 15 minutes via Colombo by Sri Lankan Airlines.

By Road/Rail: There is no road or rail connection for the 1187 km of Bangalore to Maldives distance.

 

By Sea: Maldives is a very popular cruising destination from India, but the cities to enjoy that are mostly Mumbai and Kochi. Bangalore is not a port city, and there is no sea link between the Karnataka capital and Maldives.

We booked for 5N maldives with Sumuk international. They were patient enough to give quotes for various resorts and we had many date changes till the last moment.     Except the Rs. 2200 I had to pay to the payment gateway while paying for my trip, my experience has been great with Travel Triangle. However, the Travel Triangle app on Play Store did not support latest version of Android so I relied on their mobile website for interactions. Also, the website does not look refined, but it gets the job done. Piyush from TT was helpful and sincere. The agencies TT connected me with gave best prices and the one I found reliable - Footprint Holidayz, Naushad - I chose and I am happy with them.
