The festive vibes further add to the beauty of this season, thus, making it all the more apt for visiting. However, one can also plan on visiting during the shoulder season. The time from June to September constitutes the shoulder season. Those of you who are wondering which is the best time to visit Odisha should go through the following month-wise segregation:

October to February (16°C to 28°C): This marks the winter season in Odisha. Odisha sees the highest number of travelers during the winter season as the weather during that time is dry and cool, thus, apt for sightseeing. Moreover, this season is also the time for festivity. It is when Durga Puja is celebrated, therefore, luring many people from around the world. The festival is celebrated with great jest in the state. Konark Dance Festival is another festival that is celebrated during this season, therefore, making it the best time to visit Odisha. The pleasant weather also makes it apt for sightseeing and outdoor activities. However, it is also the peak season, therefore, expect crowds and price hike.

March to May (25°C to 36°C): The months from March to May constitute the summer season in Odisha. Therefore, making it apt for budget travel. Some of the events that take place in Odisha in summers are Car Festival, Rath Yatra, etc.

June to September (25°C to 32°C): The months from June to September constitute the monsoon season in Odisha. Most of the time, it drizzles, however, downpours are not uncommon. This makes the state turn into a tropical paradise. Raja Parba is the main festival that takes place during the monsoon season in Odisha.

Climate in Odisha

Summer Season in Odisha

The summer season in Odisha lasts from April to June, with an average temperature of around 25°C to 40°C throughout the season. Odisha weather in April, May and June is not at all conducive to planning a trip here. However, even though it is not a good time to enjoy a bout of sightseeing during the day time, the evenings become much cooler with a pleasant breeze accompanying you. There are plenty of places in Odisha where you can enjoy picnics with the family, or walk along the beach, partake in the historic and cultural heritage of the state or even indulge in some adventure sports. During the summer season, once the sun sets, Odisha pretty much becomes the playground of an avid traveler.

The major festivals and events that you can enjoy here include the Chandan Yatra, the Puri Rath Yatra and the Maha Vishuva Sankranti, which will all bring you closer to Odisha as a dead destination.

Monsoon Season in Odisha

The season of monsoon in Odisha lasts from July to September, and sometimes even through mid-October, although there is considerably less rainfall here during October. The average temperature here during this season is around 25°C to 36°C. The monsoon season is not a great time to visit Odisha, since the heat and humidity that is experienced here during this season will only make you want to stay inside your room the entire day. Apart from the discomfort of sightseeing while sweat pours over your brows, there is also the possibility of cyclones or tornadoes hitting the coast, thereby also making it unsafe from bodily harm point of view. Due to the rains, most rivers of the state overflow and cause floods across Odisha, thereby again hampering tourist traffic. You might get a lot of discounts and special offers on packages, accommodation, sightseeing and day trips because this is not the high season for tourists.

Winter Season in Odisha

The winter season in Odisha, lasting from October to March with the average Odisha temperature ranging between 8°C and 28°C, is the best time to visit Odisha. With the heat and humidity gone, Odisha becomes a true haven for those looking to spend some time in the lap of nature, while getting away from all the hustle bustle of city life. With a cool breeze keeping things fresh, this is the right time to enjoy sightseeing, city tours as well as road trips across the state. The Odisha weather in December is around 8°C and 14°C. After all, there is so much to see and do here, especially during this season that you would be loathe to not participate.

Apart from the great climate of Odisha during this time, there is also plenty to do here during this season, such as trekking and nature walks, visiting any of the numerous forests, animal reserves, rolling meadows, or even spending time at the many heritage sites of the state. Durga Puja is also held with aplomb here during this time, along with the Konark Dance Festival, as well as plenty of open air musical events.

Dinesh's 5 days trip to Odisha

I recently had the pleasure of visiting Odisha, and it was an unforgettable experience, thanks to the amazing sights, rich culture, and excellent services. Here’s a breakdown of my experience with the key attractions, accommodations, and cab service: ### 1. **Hotels:** The hotels I stayed at during my tour were well-selected and comfortable. In **Puri**, The room was clean, well-maintained, and the staff was polite and attentive., I stayed in a centrally located hotel that was perfect for exploring the temples and other local attractions. One of my favourite hotel stay at Taptapani hill Resort. The amenities were top-notch, and the rooms were spacious, ensuring a restful stay after a day of sightseeing. ### 2. **Cab Service:** The cab service throughout my trip was excellent. “Basudeb” was punctual, professional, and well-versed with the routes to all the tourist spots. The Toyota Rumion was comfortable and air-conditioned, making long rides enjoyable. “Basudeb” also provided valuable insights into the culture and history of the places we visited, which added a personal touch to the journey. ### 3. **Key Places Visited:** - **Jagannath Puri Temple:** The highlight of my trip, the **Jagannath Temple** in Puri is an architectural marvel. The atmosphere is electric, filled with devotion and grandeur. The rituals and cultural significance of the temple left me in awe. - **Konark Sun Temple:** The **Konark Sun Temple** is another must-visit. The intricate carvings, coupled with its historical significance, make it one of the most impressive temples I’ve visited in India. The sheer scale and beauty of the temple left me speechless. - **Chilika Lake:** A boat ride on **Chilika Lake** was an absolute highlight. The serene waters, surrounded by lush greenery, made for a peaceful and scenic experience. We also spotted some river dolphins, which added a touch of nature's beauty to the trip. - **Lingaraj Temple:** The **Lingaraj Temple** in Bhubaneswar is a classic example of Kalinga architecture. The temple's massive size and ornate carvings were breathtaking. It’s one of the oldest temples dedicated to Lord Shiva, and the spiritual atmosphere is palpable. - **Mukteshwar Temple:** This small yet beautiful temple is a hidden gem in Bhubaneswar. The carvings and the serene environment around the temple make it a peaceful spot to visit. - **64 Yogini Temple:** In Bhubaneswar, I visited another famous 64 Yogini Temple in the Hirapur area. this one is relatively well-preserved and gives a better sense of the temple's original layout and purpose. It has 64 small stone cells, each of which was once home to a deity representing one of the Yoginis. The temple is small and simple in comparison to the grand temples of Odisha, but there’s a deep spiritual energy here. I spent time observing the intricately carved stone sculptures, which depict various deities and symbolic motifs. The temple was quiet, which allowed for a reflective visit. - **Taptapani:** The hot water springs in **Taptapani** offered a unique experience. I soaked in the warm waters, which were incredibly relaxing, especially after a long day of sightseeing. - **Tibetan Village:** The **Tibetan Village** was a lovely stop. The peaceful vibe, combined with Tibetan culture, monasteries, and handicrafts, was a delightful experience. I learned a lot about Tibetan traditions and had the chance to purchase beautiful souvenirs. ### 4. **Overall Experience:** The entire trip was well-organized, with seamless transitions from one place to the next. The combination of cultural exploration, relaxation at Chilika Lake, spiritual immersion at the temples, and the scenic beauty of places like Taptapani made this tour an enriching experience. The cab service ensured that my journey was comfortable, and the accommodations were cozy and well-located. Overall, this tour to Odisha was a fantastic mix of spirituality, nature, and culture. Deepti's 7 days trip to Odisha

It was a great experience. The services of both the travel agent Mr. Shibhashish and driver Mr. Sujan Kumar were excellent and highly recommended. Stay at hotel pride ananya was very comfortable. An advice to anyone visiting Orissa, please stay alert for all pandit jis.. most of them want more and more money out of you and it ruins the whole experience of visiting the temples... never saw this scenario anywhere except Puri, was highly disappointed. Would request tour organizers to make people aware of the same. The only Saving grace was successful darshan of bhagwan Jagannath ji. Visit to Chandrabagha beach, konark and Jagannath temple.

Anjani's 5 days trip to Odisha

Overall our trip was very good. Mr Shibashis from Inde D Voyage included all the places we wanted to visit and we had a near perfect itinerary for 5 days. The driver Mr. Videshi was very cooperative and had all the knowledge of the places we visited and we had a great time interacting with him. We were 2 female travellers only and we felt very safe through out the entire trip. The driver was able to adapt in the case of unseen circumstances and changed the order of the places to give us ample time to visit the places properly. Only one thing regarding Hotel Sapphire Plaza the day we reached, the room had smelly bedsheets and pillow covers but they did change it after complaining, so it was good service from the hotel management. The breakfast served at both the hotels was good. We will definitely visit Puri again with the same agency in future.

Ms's 3 days trip to Odisha

Entire trip was good except the additional charges they asked for child. Travel agent and hotel argued that child is not included in my request. Though it was clearly mentioned in the invoice, 3 adults, 1 child, they blamed Travel Triangle for not sending them the child's information. Finally I had to pay for child additionally for 1 breakfast.

Pragya's 5 days trip to Odisha

The trip was nice. The only feedback I would like to give is that while making the itinerary the a'noon & evening should be taken care of. The places which are best to go in evening time like Peace pagoda, Udaygiri & Khandagiri caves should be planned in evening time & not in the mrng or a'noon when it's v sunny & hot. We would have enjoyed those places v much if they would have been in our itinerary in the evening time.
