Your Flights from Mumbai to Srinagar

Day-wise Plan: Mumbai to Kashmir in 6 Nights 7 Days

Day 1: Mumbai to Srinagar | Flight, Mughal Gardens and Dal Lake

Board your morning flight from Mumbai and land at Srinagar Airport about 3 hours later. Your driver meets you at arrivals and takes you to your hotel in Rajbagh. Check in and rest for an hour. In the afternoon you drive along the Dal Lake shore to Chashme Shahi with its spring-fed fountains, Pari Mahal on the terraced hillside above it and the Mughal Garden of Nishat Bagh. If you take the early non-stop and land before 9 am, Shalimar Bagh fits in the same afternoon. Otherwise your driver moves it, the Botanical Garden and the white marble Hazratbal Shrine on the lake's western shore to the morning of Day 7, before your flight. Each garden charges a small entry fee at the gate. In late March and April, ask your driver to add the Indira Gandhi Memorial Tulip Garden. Dinner and the night are at the hotel.

Day 2: Sonmarg Day Trip | Thajiwas Glacier

After breakfast you leave for Sonmarg, about 80 km north-east along the Sindh River, a drive of 2.5 to 3 hours. The valley sits at about 2,740 metres and is ringed by Sirbal Peak, Amarnath Peak and Kolahoi Peak. It is also a base for several trekking trails. Ponies can be hired for the ride up to the Thajiwas Glacier, where you can try a sledge ride on the snow. Pony and sledge rates are set by local associations, so agree the price and the route before you start. Zero Point, beyond the Zojila Pass, is reachable only by a local taxi at extra cost and only when the road is open. You are back at the Srinagar hotel by evening for dinner.

Day 3: Srinagar to Gulmarg | Gulmarg Gondola

After breakfast, check out and drive about 50 km to Gulmarg, the Meadow of Flowers. The last stretch climbs from Tangmarg through pine forest. Check in to your hotel, which sits next to the Gondola base, and spend the day in Gulmarg at about 2,650 metres. It is India's best-known ski resort, and its golf course is one of the highest in the world. Ride the Gulmarg Gondola (optional, booked online) to Kongdori, a short pony ride or walk from the Khilanmarg meadow, and continue to Apharwat when Phase 2 is open. On a clear day you can see Nanga Parbat, at 8,126 metres. From December to February the slopes are under snow, skis and snow boots can be hired at the Gondola base, and the road from Tangmarg may need a chained vehicle at extra cost. Day 4: Gulmarg to Pahalgam via Pampore and Awantipora

Check out after breakfast for the longest drive of the trip, about 145 km and 4.5 to 5 hours to Pahalgam. On the way, stop at the saffron fields of Pampore, which flower purple in late October and early November, and see the ruins of Awantipora, two 9th-century temples to Vishnu and Shiva built by King Awantivarman. The road then turns up the Lidder valley through dense pine forest. In Pahalgam, walk along the Lidder stream with the snow-capped peaks above town. Dinner and the night are at the hotel. Day 5: Pahalgam Sightseeing | Aru Valley and Betaab Valley

Day 5 is for the valleys around Pahalgam. Package cabs cannot go beyond the town, so the optional trip to Aru Valley and Betaab Valley is made in a local union taxi hired at the Pahalgam taxi stand, at your own cost. Aru is a village of log houses about 12 km up the Lidder, and Betaab Valley is the meadow about 7 km away on the Chandanwari road, named after the 1983 film shot there. Chandanwari, about 16 km away where the Amarnath Yatra trek begins, and the Baisaran meadow above town are both on the Anantnag district list of closed tourist spots (notice of 7 July 2026), with no reopening date announced, so ask your agent whether they have reopened before you travel. Day 6: Pahalgam to Srinagar | Shankaracharya Temple, Shikara Ride and Houseboat

Check out after breakfast, ideally by 11 am, and drive about 95 km back to Srinagar, roughly 3 hours, so the temple fits in before its hill road closes to cars in the evening. Check in to your houseboat on Dal Lake and leave your bags. Then go up to the Shankaracharya Temple on the hill of Takht-e-Sulaiman, reached by a flight of stone steps, for the widest view over the Dal and the city. In the evening, take the included 1-hour shikara ride on Dal Lake past the floating gardens and the houseboat rows as the lights come on. Dinner is served on board, and you spend the night on the houseboat.

Day 7: Srinagar to Mumbai | Return Flight

Breakfast is on the houseboat deck before you check out. If your flight is in the afternoon, there is time for Polo View Market or the Boulevard for saffron, dry fruit and a pashmina. Your driver drops you at Srinagar Airport, about 15 km away. Reach it 2.5 to 3 hours before departure, because every car is checked at the outer gate before the terminal. Board your flight to Mumbai, about 3 hours non-stop, and the trip ends at home.
