How to reach Chandigarh is not a tough task as Chandigarh airport is connected to various parts of India through a flawless flight network. Domestic flights have credible connectivity to Chandigarh from cities such as Chennai, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Delhi, Srinagar, and Goa.

Nearest Airport to Chandigarh is Shaheed Bhagat Singh International Airport at a distance of 13 km from the Chandigarh city center. It is located in Mohali and boasts of an eco-friendly international terminal while catering to passengers from across the continents with an extensive network of flights. Plenty of taxi services are available to from the airport. The city bus stand is approximately 19 km from the airport. The new international terminal that was recently constructed is a one of its kind eco-friendly terminal. It was built by Larsen and Toubro and became operational in October 2015.

By Train

The Chandigarh railway station is about 8 km from the city centre. Chandigarh train network has several frequent trains that connect the city to other cities of India. Some of the most boarded trains to and from Chandigarh are Jan Shatabdi, Shatabdi, Himalayan Queen, Paschim Express, Chennai Express, Sadbhavna Express and Kerala Sampark Kranti. Travelers can reach from Mumbai to Chandigarh through Paschim Express and Chennai to Chandigarh can be easily reached by Dehradun-Chandigarh Madras Express, among many other trains. Superfast and Express trains connect Kolkata to Chandigarh. Yesvantpur Junction Skrantiexp is the fastest train that operates from Bangalore to Chandigarh.

However, there are no direct trains from Hyderabad to Chandigarh. So, there are connecting ones from Delhi that take passengers to Chandigarh. Various superfast trains connect Ahmedabad to Chandigarh. Yesvantpur Chandigarh Karnataka Sampark Kranti Express connects Pune to Chandigarh.

On reaching railways station of Chandigarh, tourists can conveniently take a bus or auto, or hire a cab or taxi to be at place of their choice in the city.

By Road

Chandigarh road map is laced by excellent road connectivity with other neighboring cities and states. Tourists can easily book online tickets for their journeys to or from Chandigarh. Chandigarh bus services provide enjoyable journey to the nearby places to Chandigarh such as Shimla, Dehradun, Mussoorie, Haridwar, Rishikesh, Delhi, Kullu, Dharamshala, and Mcleodganj. The National Highway 1 connects Chandigarh with Delhi. This Chandigarh route to Delhi is easily covered in 4 - 5 hours approximately. Chail distance from Chandigarh is 107 km and distance between Chandigarh and Shimla is 119 km, making these two among the most visited destinations from Chandigarh. The Chandigarh Transport Undertaking (CTU) also ply buses from Chandigarh to the states of Rajasthan and Jammu and Kashmir. The buses operate from Inter State Bus Terminals in Sector 17 and 43 in the city. There are also private bus operators who run buses from the neighboring states to Chandigarh.

e a bit with food at some hotels. Hotels provided at Shimla & Dharamshala were the best anyone can get at this price. Hotels at Manali, Dalhousie & Amritsar were also fair enough if compared to the price they charged. Even the car which was provided for local transport was new & in good condition as promised by Rakesh Gilly. The driver was very humble, professional & deciplined. The itenerary was very well planned by Rakesh Gilly & covered almost every tourist spot. Overall trip was good. They followed whatever mentioned in the package. Only thing is we felt that the driver was not properly briefed. For the first day we reached Chandigarh very late hence we had to take dinner on the way other than from the booked hotel. This expense has been agreed and allowed

to deduct. Appreciate for that. The hotel at Chandigarh was fine. But hotel at Amritsar was not that much standard one. Plus the dining area was not good place. Food was very good in both places. Car driver is very good. driving was perfect. But there was no space at all in this Innova to keep the luggage. we struggled to accommodate and had to keep in the seats. We all came from different places hence all were having luggage. Overall it is very good.
