For those wondering how to reach Bikaner, this is the perfect place to know it all. Bikaner is a major tourist destination of Rajasthan, popular among solo travelers, families, honeymooners as well as groups of friends, due to its diverse range of activities and sightseeing options. Tourists are sure to find something or the other to interest them in the city, such as a desert safari or a trip to the amazing Kote Gate for a bit of shopping. The city is well connected to all parts of the country via trains and roads. Bikaner currently does not have an airport, but Jaipur International Airport and Jodhpur International Airport are used by travelers to get to the city.

By Air

Nal Airport in Bikaner is not well connected with passenger flights. Alliance Air provides flights to Bikaner only from Delhi. The nearest airport from Bikaner, with regular flights, is located in Jodhpur, which is almost 251 kms away from the city center. If you are planning to travel by flight, then your best bet would be to disembark at Jodhpur International airport and board a bus to Bikaner. You can also opt for hiring a private taxi to get to the city. Both buses and taxis are easily available right outside the airport. It will take no more than 4 to 5 hours to get to your destination from the airport. Jodhpur International airport offers direct connectivity to Indian cities such as Delhi, Lucknow, Kolkata, Mumbai, Jammu and more, apart from international destinations such as Frankfurt, Paris, London and Bangkok, etc.

By Train

Bikaner is well connected to all major cities of the country, as well as to almost all large cities of Rajasthan. There are two railway stations that serve the city, namely Bikaner Junction and Lalgarh Railway Station. Both of the stations are located within the city and lie nearly 6 kms away from the city center. Direct trains from Bikaner to cities such as Delhi, Jodhpur, Hyderabad, Chandigarh, Thiruvananthapuram, Ahmedabad, Mumbai, Kolkata and Guwahati among others are easily available. Trains such as Sampark Kranti Express and Chandigarh Express connect the larger junctions. Intercity Express and other passenger trains connect the cities in the state.

By Road

Reaching Bikaner via surface transfer is a good idea since the roads are well maintained and offer beautiful views of the desert at some points. There are plenty of bus services, including luxury buses and the state-run general buses. Comfortable sleeper buses are also available from a few destinations within the state as well as from outside the state such as Delhi. Jodhpur to Bikaner distance can be covered via car in about 5 hours. Delhi to Bikaner distance by road should take about 10 hours of travel. You can opt for the one that best suits your preference and budget. If thinking of enjoying a road trip to Bikaner, it is definitely a good idea. The highways that connect the city to others are mostly in great condition. We recently chose services for first time from back to holidays for our trip to Rajasthan, and while there were some positive aspects, unfortunately, our overall experience was not as smooth as we had hoped. Issues with Driver and Vehicle The driver and vehicle provided were from Uttar Pradesh,

not Rajasthan. As a result, the driver had no local knowledge, which caused significant delays and confusion. For instance, upon our arrival at Udaipur airport, it took 30-40 minutes for the driver to locate us, despite being at the airport gate. We were with six children and had to direct him over the phone repeatedly. Throughout the trip, the lack of local knowledge meant we had to rely on Google Maps to reach destinations. This consumed extra time and added unnecessary stress. Inaccuracies in Itinerary The itinerary mentioned an elephant ride near the Birla Temple, which was not there it was near amber fort and due to this details we missed that. This was a major disappointment, especially for the children who were looking forward to it. Sightseeing in Udaipur was poorly planned. For example: Jagdish Temple, listed for Day 2, should have been included on Day 1 as it is adjacent to Jagmandir Palace. Due to this misalignment, we had to waste time traveling across the city on Day 2, which resulted in skipping Fateh Sagar Lake and the Aquarium. Hotel Experiences Devi Palace, Udaipur: This hotel was excellent. The staff was extremely polite and helpful, providing detailed guidance for local sightseeing. The breakfast and meals were also outstanding. The Lighthouse, Jaipur: Unfortunately, this hotel did not meet expectations. The staff was rude, unresponsive to feedback, and the breakfast quality was subpar. We decided against having any meals here. What ever ratings we have given to the hotels are only to devi palace we consider poor rating to the light house. We enjoyed, our stay at Devi Palace, the overall experience was spoiled by the lack of local expertise, misinformation in the itinerary, and disappointing accommodations in Jaipur. We hope you consider this feedback to improve your services for future travelers.
