Essential Information About Rajasthan

Here's some important information as recommended by Lakhs of our travelers

Known as a cultural and architectural hub, Rajasthan is also a food lover’s delight due to its delectable cuisine.

Rajasthani food is famous all over the country and any holiday tour of Rajasthan is incomplete without trying some of the scrumptious dishes here.

Dal Bati Churma is a famous food in Rajasthan where the tasty Batis are served with Panchkuti dal and the churma. Those who love spicy food will enjoy Laal Maas, which is full of fiery red chillies.  For rice lovers, Gatte ki Khichdi and Gatte ka Pulao are some of the popular Rajasthani food items that one must try. The spicy Rajasthani Kadi is different from the Kadi eaten across the country and is also a must try.

Among the popular Rajasthani snacks are the sugary sweet Mawa Kachori,  the tasty Methi Bajra Poori,  the scrumptious Pyaaz Kachori, and the crispy Kalmi Vada. Any visit to this state is also incomplete without savoring Rajasthani sweets list like Ghevar, Balushahi, Gujia, and Churma Ladoo.

Shopping

Tourists will come across a variety of exquisite wares in the streets and bazaars of Rajasthan that reflects its rich and diverse culture.  Any tourist guide in Rajasthan will tell you that Johari Bazar is the perfect place to visit for Jaipuri ornaments. Bapu Bazaar has a variety of handlooms while Clock tower market is famous for its spices. For Bandhani items, Nai Sarak is the place to go whereas Hathi Pol Bazar is the ideal place for home items. Sadar Bazar, Mahatma Gandhi Road, and Kote Gate are other bazaars one must check out on a trip to Rajasthan.

Weather

The weather in Rajasthan generally varies due to the fact that the state has a tropical desert climate. Rajasthan weather is extremely cold from October to February,  scorching hot from the months of April to June, and quite pleasant from July till September. Temperatures can reach as high as 49°C and as low as -2°C.  Jaisalmer, Phalodi, and Barmer are the hottest regions while Churu, Sikar, Bikaner, and Pilani get pretty cold. Rainfall in Rajasthan depends on the region you are in, with the east of the Aravalli region receiving much more rainfall than the westward area.

There are a myriad of fairs and festivals in Rajasthan that showcases its colorful vibrancy and heritage. Among the popular festivals of Rajasthan is the Rajasthan International Folk Festival in Jodhpur that is celebrated around Sharad Purnima. This festival is a treat for art and music lovers. The Jaipur Literature Festival held at Diggi Palace is a literary delight with writers from across the world attending it.

The Desert festival in Jaisalmer is another famous Rajasthan festival where the spirit of Rajasthan comes alive in the form of  camel races, desert rituals and life,  competitions like turban tying, longest moustache, Mr Desert etc, scrumptious food, and handicrafts stalls. This festival lasts for three days and is generally held in February.

The Teej festival and the Gangaur festival in Jaipur are traditional festivals of Rajasthan that are marked by old palanquins, elephant processions, folk songs, and chariots. Other festivals that are celebrated with fervor in Rajasthan are the Elephant Festival in Jaipur, the Urs Festival in Ajmer, the Camel Festival in Bikaner, and the KIte festival in Jodhpur.

Awati's 6 days trip to Rajasthan

The owner of the travel company that we travelled with is a person who doesn't even know how to talk with their customers. Firstly our travel agent was Preeti agarwal and when we called her to raise some complaints she was not even able to accept them and then the owner started talking to us. Who is such a egotistic person with no sense of talking to customers.

Gurunathan's 3 days trip to Rajasthan

The hotels in general were not at a three star level except for Shani Vilas in Ranthambore. The hotel in Agra did not even have hot water. The initial room provided in Delhi's metro view was very bad and we had to request for a change. The toilet flush was not working, the bathroom door did not have a latch, the door was broken etc. Please ensure that the right level of hotels are provided.

Mozhiarasu's 5 days trip to Rajasthan

The best thing happened is the drivers in the jodpur, who resolved the messed up plan by the travel agent. Hotel Sia Resorts changed and we have been changed to different resort, which was older property. The daywise plan made by the travel agent was absurd and created lot of confusion.

Anushka's 4 days trip to Rajasthan

We have booked a tour to Rajasthan through Trip Sailor.com. The accommodation given was really good, the itinerary was nicely curated. But the driver was not up to the mark, he was driving very rashly. The driver as a person was good, he listened to us whenever we asked for anything but road awareness and road safety is important for a tourist driver. Other than that everything was really nice and smooth. It was a hassle free trip to Rajasthan. We really liked your service. Thankyou Sandeep from Trip Sailor.Com City Palace Jaipur was magnificent

Shraddha's 6 days trip to Rajasthan

We recently had an incredible trip to Rajasthan planned through Back to Holidays, and we couldn’t be happier with the experience. A special thanks to Preeti from their team, who organized everything flawlessly. From the beginning, Preeti guided us with great recommendations, especially when it came to hotels. She assured us to trust her choices, and we are so glad we did! The hotels were amazing, with excellent rooms, great service, and delicious food. The vehicle arranged for our travel was comfortable, and our driver was extremely polite and professional. Throughout the trip, Preeti was always available whenever we needed any assistance, making sure everything went smoothly. The highlight of our trip was undoubtedly the desert camp. It was an unforgettable experience, and we are so thankful to Preeti for recommending it. Everything about it was perfect, and we thoroughly enjoyed every moment. I traveled with my family(with 2.5 year old and senior citizen), and we all absolutely loved the entire journey. My parents were especially happy and had a wonderful time without a single complaint. This trip was a truly memorable one, and we highly recommend Preeti from Back to Holidays for a well-planned, stress-free vacation. Thank you, Preeti, and the team for making this trip so special!

Rajatsharma's 5 days trip to Rajasthan

Hi Back to Holidays Team, We have planned a trip this month to Rajasthan and your Executive Ms. Preeti Sharma has helped us a lot and planned our trip smoothly. The hotels suggested by her in a very cost-centric way and the properties are also good. Even during our trip, she has helped us on call and managed the things. I sincerely want to thank her for support and guidance.
