About Camel Festival In Bikaner

The Camel Festival in Bikaner is one of the most famous festivals of Rajasthan. The Bikaner Camel Festival is a must visit when here, since it offers a great chance to see the rural life of Rajasthan and mingle with the locals. There are camel performances, such as camel races, camel rides and even camel dances. What could be better? It is a yearly event that is held in the Thar Desert, during either early January or late December. It is a two day festival, which also offers other options for enjoyment such as folk music shows, puppet shows, the spectacular Fire Dance and an amazing fireworks display. The food at the Camel Festival in Bikaner is something to write home about for sure. Apart from the delicious food that Rajasthan is famous for such as the kachodis, ghewar, dal baati, and other items, the Bikaner Camel Festival also offers tourists a chance to taste tea made from camel milk. There are also sweets available that have been made from the rich, thick camel milk. The Festival is certainly unique in what it offers to tourists and locals alike. In fact, it can be said that this is the most popular camel festival of Rajastha

    • Trip to Bikaner

Our trip was good with few inconveniences About the hotel accommodation : Hotel Livin Jaipur, Hotel sagar, Bikaner, and hotel Anukune Villas were good . But in hotel treebo, Jodhpur there are no minimum facilities like doormats, soaps , drinking water etc. No proper response and hospitality from staff and management. Food also average. We had a very bad experience. And about Royal Haveli, Jaisalmer, the room is good but very very small. No proper maintainance for restaurant. The location of the hotel itself is very bad with stinking smell. From next time onwards try to rectify these shortcomings while booking the hotels. . Stay at Rojani at sam is awesome. We enjoyed the stay. The hospitality of staff is memorable. The driver Mr. Manoj is a gentleman. The driving is quite good.

    • Trip to Bikaner

Although I was quite apprehensive about travelling with a kid, the travel agent made sure it was safe. I am happy with the trip but I think there is still room for improvement like a little more planning and sharing timings of various to-visit first etc would have helped. As I was travelling to Rajasthan for the first time it would have been byif it was suggested to start early to avoid rushing through fort visits. The internet didn’t work at times so sharing opening and closing time would make it easy to plan things better. Safety wise I had no concerns and the driver was polite and courteous at all times. Hotels were good except for the one in Bikaner who charged high price for food and one in Jodhpur where service was very poor. Also, I think it would have been better if I was given deluxe rooms instead of super deluxe as that would have brought the overall cost of travelling down. Although the travel agent checked on us if we reached on time etc a little more planning would have helped in terms of sharing the closing time for visit to various forts. All in all a good experience as I think travelling was safe and we didn’t encounter any issue. Thanks for everything and making my trip memorable. My visit to Jaisalmer and Sam was the best in the entire trip.

    • Trip to Char Dham

Let me give response location/stay wise. 1. Hotel Drive in: Hotel was good but behavior of staff was not good. Even they arguing with us for food. Also at the end of tour, they have given room with window having broken glass. I have photo of that as well. 2. Hotel Amandeep Galaxy: Hotel is not up to the mark but staff behavior was too good. 3. Hotel R. K. Heritage: Hotel as well as staff behavior was very good. 4. Hotel Chanderlok: Hotel as well as staff behavior not good. You can't put the same in the list of hotel. One can peep into the bathroom from outside. Window was open. It is very very bad. It comes to your reputation. Pathetic. 5. Bikaner House: Hotel as well as staff behavior was very good. Also location was very good, beside the temple. 6. Hotel Ganga: Hotel as well as staff behavior was very good. Food was also very good. Further, i appreciate the last moment help from Heaven Uttarakhand for changing hotel. I would request Heaven Uttarakhand to re-validate the route plan because many places they considered 6-8 hrs driving time but we spent more than 14-15 hrs in travelling. One can understand the situation after travelling this much of time in a day. Also I would request Heaven Uttarakhand to ensure proper driver who very well know about places to visit. Many places we went with the help of Google Map. This should not happen. I thought to give you genuine feedback so that improvement can be done. Regret if I have hurt someone. Regards,

    • Trip to Bikaner

9 days trip to Rajasthan -> udaipur, jodhpur, jaisalmer, bikaner, pushkar, Ajmer and Jaipur. We were told that the driver will be familiar with all places to visit but unfortunately he had no idea about any city other than udaipur. Additionally, he did not even have a map. He was dependent on the guest to help him with directions on mobile. Because of this we wanted a lot of time figuring things out which could have otherwise been utilized for site seeing. Neither the agent nor the driver informed us about timings of important places that close as early as 4.30pm. Evenings wasted! Overall experience is that I ended up planning activities of the day instead of relaxing n enjoying the trip.

    • Trip to Bikaner

Overall it was a good trip of Rajasthan. We went on a 6 night 7 day trip planning to cover Jaipur -> Bikaner -> Jaisalmer -> Jodhpur -> Pushkar -> Jaipur. We were two adults and one Kid (10 yrs). Mr Kapil Sharma booked the Hotels and cab(Etios) as per our requirement. The quotation was very competitive and I confirmed the booking after comparing the prices with a few others. Out of the planned trip we could not cover Pushkar due to lack of time. Mr Sharma was in contact with us throughput the trip about the facilities. The driver Sohan Singh (Sonu) although very young, was a punctual, respectful and a very safe driver. Probably being his first time around these parts, he did not have much knowledge about the sights and monuments. But, we didn't mind considering his age and experience in this industry(Thanks to google !). At a couple of places we left our Son in the car with him and they bonded well. MehranGarh Fort (Jodhpur), Amer Fort (Jaipur), Manbha Camp (Khuri Sand Dunes, Jaisalmer), War memorial(Jaisalmer) were among the most memorable places we visited. The Night Safari on a Jeep in the Sand dunes was a unique experience. The Albert Hall Museum in Jaipur contains excellent artifacts. Worth a visit. There is a lot of travelling involved. Carry your favourite song collection for the long car rides. There are not many decent hotels en-route, especially with good toilet facilities for women. Carry some eatables, if you are travelling with Kids. The Tour may not proceed as per Itinerary (I was stuck in a 3 hr traffic Jam due to a Road Show by a prominent political personality) . So be flexible with the timings. Wherever possible, take an official guide. They explain the local history behind the monuments and keep you moving. On your own, you might spend too much time at one place, missing others. Don't get pressurized into buying things at the monuments by the guides. We did all our shopping at Jaipur (Market near Hawa Mahal) on the last day of the visit so that we didn't have to carry the stuff during our trip. The prices were cheaper than at the shops near the monuments. Carry Re-usable water bottles and have it filled up at the Hotel Restaurant during breakfast. Save money as well as the environment. Almost every hotel arranged a cultural event in the evening where local artists performed. Please do tip them generously. Some Hotels have limited electrical outlets. Do carry a multi-point electrical socket for all your phone and camera chargers.

    • Trip to Bikaner

It is my last minute planning to travel to Rajastan with family (Wife, One kid and Mother). Tourpedia made my trip memorable. It is great service offered by them from landing to the airport and returning back to Jaipur. I had habit of booking my own hotels and plan the local conveyance within city or inter-city. I had actually taken right decision to move to tourpedia package for Rajastan trip. It made my life easy. It would have been in very very difficult for me travel jaipur to Bikaner to Jaisalmer to Sand dunes desert to Jodhpur and Jaipur. I would have spent more money on this trip if i had not booked tour pedia package. Over tour-pedia has provided quality services. One of the 5 hotels was not good. Particular hotel took lot of time for serving the break fast. Apart from it service is very good. Driver was very old, polite and experienced. Some times driver was getting irritated easily. I have just ignored it he is like old person and common behavior. I treated him like my family member. So there is no problem. I suggest everyone who wants to go on trip to Rajastan must consider tourpedia.

    • Trip to Bikaner

great trip. covering pushkar, ajmer, bikaner, jaisalmer, jodhpur, udaipur . Hotels at pushkar, jodhpur and udaipur were really pleasant. Specially Pushkar hotel had great food and very very comforting stay. Udaipur hotel was at lake pichola with wonderful view but a little inconvenient to travel during market hours. But all trouble was forgotten once you visit the room with it's magnificent view. Jodhpur hotel was a Treebo property so it is self explanatory in terms of comfort and food. Properties at bikaner and jaisalmer were hyped and didn't enjoy any facilities provided. There was really less comfort at both the locations. Food was not good at Bikaner. If one already has dhani experience then i would recommend to stay at Jaislamer city rather than going for Swiss Tent. One can always travel to Desert to enjoy safari and camel ride. our bedsheet was torn & bedding was not fresh. insufficient towels. food was cooked in a bad oil. We had Etios sedan for ourselves throughout the journey. Cab was really comfortable. Driver was decent. but it was annoying at times when he was continuously on phone for hours in a very loud voice with his fellow driver and family calls. Saurabh, main agent, is very proactive and patient with all the queries. Also he handled my en route issues really well whenever I had any.

The driver Mukesh Sharma was very prompt and punctual. He took us to all the places requested and provided us helpful insights. The hotels provided were average except for the one in Udaipur and somehow the worst rooms in the hotel were provided to us (eg.room toilet not working in Jaisalmer hotel and we had to be transferred to a smaller room, the hotel room in Bikaner was ground floor near lobby..so there was disturbance round the clock,Hotel in Jodhpur didn't have staff to provide breakfast). Need to reconsider if you are booking almost 2 months ahead and still provided with such hotels for the money we paid. Overall a good trip itinerary if the hotels are not considered.
