Nature Attractions Of Udaipur

Udaipur is surrounded by the Aravalli hills, which separate the city from Thar desert. It lies near the Gujarat border and is never short of traders moving across states through this city. It is usually hot and humid there due to the abundance of water bodies present in the city. It has 5 prominent lakes, besides an intricate water network, hence the title ‘City of Lakes’. These lakes are Lake Pichola, Rajsamand lake, Jaisamand lake, Udai Sagar and Fateh Sagar lakes. Owing to its strategic location, Udaipur despite being located in a desert state, is rich in it flora and fauna. Rivers like Vakal, Som, Bedach, Sabarmati and Gomati are the main rivers flowing through this compact city.

Udaipur is one of the most popular travel destinations in India and as such, is full of reliable places for solo travellers to stay. As long as the necessary precautions are taken and a general awareness is practiced, there is nothing wrong with Udaipur as a city for solo travel.

Obviously, the best season to visit Udaipur is the winter season from October-February, that is when the temperature is pleasant and the city can be enjoyed peacefully. Having said that, monsoon is not too bad either and it can be a good idea for low budget travellers to go at that time. Summer isn't a very good idea as the temperature during the day is in between 40-45 degrees celsius.

The City Palace of Udaipur is a must visit to introduce yourself to the architetural brilliance and the royal elegance of what once was in the city. A boat ride around Lake Pichola seeing the sights and especially th Lake Palace in the middle is also not to be missed. Bagore Ki Haveli museum is another item on the tourist checklist. Lastly, the Jagdish temple and the Eklingji temple are must visits for religious significance

There are plenty of hotels in the lal ghat, gangaur ghat area and both are ideally located for tourists wishing to be near all the attractions in Udaipur as lal ghat is walking distance from a lot of the major places to visit in Udaipur.

Lake Pichola, Udaisagar Lake, Fateh Sagar Lake, Rajsamand Lake, and Jaisamand Lake are the five major lakes in Udaipur.
