History of Alaska

Before the arrival of Europeans, many ancient local people for thousands of years occupied Alaska. Many people who have researched about Alaska believe that Russian settlement here was established in the 17th century. The first European boat to reach Alaska known to be the St. Gabriel under the authority of surveyor M. S. Gvozdev and also under the assistant navigator I. Fyodorov. In 1784 the first permanent European settlement was founded in Alaska. When the good Friday earthquake hit Alaska many people got killed. Alaska is the largest state in the United States and became a union as the 49th state in 1959.

Alaska's distance from Russia is not more than 50 miles.

Many people visit Alaska just to see these lights, the alluring Aurora borealis when you are on even an Alaska one day tour which is also called northern lights which are produced by electrons and protons which are charged and they strike the earth’s upper atmosphere.

This will leave you astonished that it is legal to shoot a bear in Alaska, but waking a sleeping bear just for taking pictures is not.

In Fort Yukon in 1915, the highest Fahrenheit temperature was recorded which was 100 degrees.

At Creek Camp in 1971, the lowest temperature recorded was -80 degrees.

It also contributes to the oil produced by the United States.
