Almora is an enchanting hill station in the state of Uttarakhand. Traveling to Almora is in itself an amazing experience since you get to pass through the scenic vistas of bewitching pine trees and hairpin bends. The best way to cover the distance between Delhi to Almora is by road. One can choose to self-drive or take a bus to reach Almora from Delhi. The road distance between Delhi to Almora is approx. 361 km and it takes around 8.5 hours to reach. However, there is no direct connectivity by air or train. So, if you are planning to travel by air, it is recommended that you take a flight to Pantnagar Airport (PGH) and then travel to Almora from there. On the contrary, if you are planning to travel by train, then hop on Ranikhet Express to reach Lalkuan and then continue to Almora by local taxi. Delhi to Almora by Train: Delhi to Almora by train is not the very convenient way of traveling as there is no direct train available. The two ways to reach Almora from Delhi by train is to take a train from Delhi to Kathgodam and then take a local taxi or bus from Kathgodam to Almora. Or, you can also take a train to Lalkuan and then travel to Almora by hiring a taxi.  

 

Delhi to Almora by Car: Delhi to Almora distance by road is approximately 361 km. It will take around 8.5 hours to 9 hours to cover this distance if you choose to travel by your own car. Taxis can also be hired from Delhi to reach Almora easily. 

 

Delhi to Almora By Bus: It is very convenient to reach Almora from Delhi by bus. Direct Delhi to Almora bus can be taken from Delhi’s Anand Vihar Bus Stand. It takes around 12 hours to reach Almora from Delhi by bus. You can book from official website of Uttarakhand bus service. It will cost you around 510 INR for an ordinary Delhi to Almora bus.

It was good experience. However few things should have been cleared in the quotation. They have added lal tibba in the itinerary where there cab doesn't go. They asked us to visit other places instead of lal tibba. We visited lal tibba by walk as it was only 1 km from the other places. When we visited the other places via cab, lal tibba was in our way. What was the point of saying that we dont go there?? What i have understood is that they themselves not aware of the route. There was lack of clarity about th places. Otherwise overall experience was fine Everything except clarity for one of the place.

Driver tends to avoid visiting spots that cause him inconvenience. They shall be mandated by the agent to cover the spots given in the quote in any situation. The payment process seemed a bit haphazard. The website generates invoice other than amount decided. It has a scope to improve. Rest of the service was good, trip cost was reasonable. Good service.

La Nivasa hotel was very nice and the food, hospitality of the staff was very friendly. Specail thanks to Deepak who worked in La Nivasa for taking care of our request. The Cab driver experience was okay and could be improved. The driving partner ask for extra cash if they need to wait after 6 p.m. , this was never communicated before the trip and they do create a scene out of it. Last time when I visited Manali faced similar issue and this time in Nainital was not so different experience.
