Named after the erstwhile Lord Viceroy of India - Marquess of Lansdowne, this picturesque hill station located in the lap of the Himalayas is quite mesmerising. The colonial charm and the Garhwal region's natural beauty make for a gorgeous mountain retreat. Situated at an elevation of 1,700 metres above sea level, tourists love visiting Lansdowne in summer and springtime. Lansdowne is well-connected and easily reached by various transportation options such as bus, train, and air. The closest major towns are Kotdwar, Rishikesh, Haridwar, and Ranikhet, while Dehradun and Delhi are also not too far from Lansdowne. While travelling within Lansdowne, having your own vehicle or hiring a rented car is best. Alternatively, you can also use local buses.

    The nearest airport from Lansdowne is Jolly Grant Airport (DED) in Dehradun, about 142 km from Lansdowne city. This domestic airport in Uttarakhand serves nearby towns like Dehradun, Mussoorie, Haridwar, Rishikesh, and Lansdowne. The airport has daily flights to Delhi, Bangalore, and Bombay.
