About Beach Visit in Vienna
With the short summers in Vienna, the tourists and the people want to enjoy the warm weather after the long winters. With the first days of summer, people come out to bathe in the warm light and tables and chairs are laid on the storefront of all cafes and restaurants as well as on walkways. The tourists do get attracted to the magical and old beaches along the Danube where they can enjoy the summer sun. The beaches are generally open from the month of May until the month of September (month end), depending on the weather.
Strandbader Alte Donau
It is one of the oldest beaches of Vienna. It is the shore of Danube’s side channel with manicured lawns. But they are not artificial ones. The beach is a century old and the wading sand helps the visitors to enjoy the warm sun and fresh clean water.
Donaustadt
One can find a number of ways to spend time here along the water’s edge. One can either enjoy the beauty of nature by sitting on the lush green hillside or can have a stroll along the sandy shoreline and can feel the tickle as the water touches your toes on the beach. One can also dive for a swim. The longboat yards and shaded walks provide the tourists with sailboats, canoes, and motor boats for rent.
Simmeringer Bad
It is one of the biggest beaches of Vienna and has got special arrangements for both adults and children. The waves are truly magical giving the tourists the feel of enjoying in a real ocean.
Theresinbad
It is one of the oldest bathing beaches of Vienna. This beautiful part of Vienna also displays the culture and heritage of the place and tourists can have their best experience of enjoying their holidays at the beach.
Ottakringerbad
Amidst the hustle and bustle of the daily life, this place is a perfect oasis decorated with natural beauty and greenery. The beach along with the natural elements makes it a spot to relax and get refreshed.
Schafbergbad
This beach in Vienna is frequented by most of the tourists throughout the year and the visitors do get refreshments from the little stalls that sell beverages and shakes. One can also get a restaurant nearby for having a presentable meal.
Krapfenwaldbad
This beach is on the side of mountains which makes it a little different not only because it is away from the city but also due to the thermal pool, which it is famous for.
