How to Reach Kullu Manali

By air

The nearest airport is Bhuntar (Kullu-Manali), about 50 km from Manali and 10 km from Kullu, with limited flights from Delhi and Chandigarh. Most families fly into Chandigarh instead, which has far more flights, and drive up over about 8 to 9 hours. Your package cab can meet you at either airport.

By rail

There is no broad-gauge line into Manali itself. The usual railheads are Chandigarh and Kalka, from where the road journey continues by cab or Volvo. The scenic Kangra Valley narrow-gauge line runs to Joginder Nagar, roughly 120 km short of Manali, and is a slow but memorable option for older children.

By road
