I booked an 8-day Meghalaya and Shillong trip for ₹1,40,000. While some parts of the trip were enjoyable, there were several serious issues that made the overall experience disappointing. When we arrived in Guwahati at around 12 AM, the driver arrived on time, but he took us to a different hotel. I
questioned the route multiple times as it did not seem correct. Traveling late at night in an unfamiliar city with my wife felt unsafe and stressful, especially since the roads were empty and it was around 2 AM. Eventually, he realized that the hotel was wrong, and only after that were we taken to the correct hotel. The next day, we were supposed to visit Maa Kamakhya Temple, but we discovered that no booking had been made for us, even though the package was booked on the 19th for travel starting on December 27 (an 8-day itinerary). This was very disappointing, especially considering the amount we paid. Apart from these issues, the hotels were very nice, the driver was polite and supportive, and the destinations themselves were beautiful. Another disappointing aspect was the lack of follow-up. After I paid the full amount, and even after completing the trip, I never received a single call asking about our experience, feedback, or whether anything could be improved. Overall, while some aspects were good, I did not expect these kinds of issues at this price point.

Hotel stay was excellent in Treetops Residency(Shillong) and Serene Resort(Cherrapunji), the staff, services and food served was really nice. However Streamside Guest House(Mawlynnong) was satisfactory. Although the rooms were good and initially the staff entertained us while checking-in, later whil
e checking out the staff didn't bother to wake up in the morning for breakfast or for the settlement. No response at all. The driver was good but he didn't guide us properly about the itinerary locations, the travel time taken. We had to constantly ask about the locations travel time and basic information. A driver should be proactively involved with the passengers in telling about the local people, their culture, their traditions if he is there for more a day with us. Umngot River, Garden of Caves, Arwah Caves, Lathium Canyon.

covered more places. Snow park is overrated. Try to book hotel rooms side by side so that family can stay together. Try avoiding taking traveller's to the beach at afternoon, rather evening works good. Dona Paula beach was good and food was also good. Calangute and baga beach and night market was nice.

The itinerary was spot on: good mix of beach relaxation, light sightseeing, and free time, so I never felt rushed or exhausted. Everything flowed nicely. From the first query to the trip end, the Svietnam team (and TravelTriangle support) was super helpful—quick replies on call or WhatsApp for any questions. That kind of support makes a huge difference in a foreign place. I met other travelers who booked hotels and transfers themselves and said it was a total hassle—hard to get good deals, lots of coordination stress.
