How To Reach Santorini From Bangalore

Santorini receives at least one flight at the local airport and two ferries at Athinios Port every day from Athens all around the year. During the peak seasons from March to October, there are more added to the fleet because of high tourism rates.

By Air: Carriers like Etihad, Qatar Airways and Lufthansa have regular Bangalore to Santorini flights. Now you can either take the two stops and go to the island at once or take a day or more at Athens and take a separate, 45 minutes flight to Santorini.

By Ferry: Located 20 minutes away from central Athens, Piraeus Port operates all the ferries that depart for Santorini from the mainland. There are ferries from other islands like Crete and Mykonos as well during the summer time. Blue Star ferries are the preferred ones because of comfort and luxury factor, but it takes 8 hours while Hellenic Seaways ferries or Seajets take only 5, but their rides are bumpy.

By Road/Rail: There is no road or railway that connects Santorini with Bangalore or any mainland as it is an island. There is no railway system within the island as well. However, road transport is very smooth. Santorini is a small island, and there are hop-on-hop-off as well as regular bus services around the all the towns. You can rent cars or ATVs for a day at a fixed rate as well.
