Nuwara Eliya Honeymoon Packages

Nuwara Eliya is a lush green city located in Central Sri Lanka. This place is often referred to as the “Little England” because of its mind-blowing natural landscapes dotted with slightly similar British village settings.
This place offers a quiet and romantic backdrop to enjoy a perfect honeymoon trip.

Honeymoon packages to Nuwara Eliya are indeed a great idea to spend some quality time together with your loved one amidst the glistening tea plantation and tiny hills. This article throws some light on things which are important to know before planning a trip to this pristine and tranquil destination.

How To Reach?

Your Nuwara Eliya honeymoon starts with reaching the destination either by air, road or train.

By Air

Nuwara Eliya can’t be reached directly by flight as it doesn’t house any airport. Nearest airport to this place is Colombo which is connected with frequent international and domestic flights. From Colombo, you can access Nuwara Eliya either by bus routes or railways.

By Rail

There is no railway station in the scenic town of Nuwara Eliya. Nanu Oya railway station is just 10 km from Nuwara Eliya and the railway station is well connected through main line to Colombo and Badulla.

By Road

This hilly town is connected to the capital city, Colombo, via two bus routes – one via Hatton and other via Kandy. Although the roads are not in good shape, the road journey to Nuwara Eliya is truly blissful. You can avail several intercity buses or rent a car drop to reach the town.

Best Time To Visit

Honeymoon packages to Nuwara Eliya can be booked at any time of the year. Overall temperature is pretty bearable during any month of the year.

Summer Season

Summer months usually span through March to June. This is the hottest time of the year when temperature hovers from 13 to 23 degree Celsius. Days might be a little humid but after sunset, the temperature becomes really pleasant. Summer days are best to explore this hilly town and plan your Nuwara Eliya honeymoon trip.

Monsoon Season

From July to November, Sri Lanka experiences the highest rainfall and therefore outdoor activities get restricted immensely during monsoon time. This time of the year is best for budget-friendly trips as accommodation and travel costs reduce significantly.

Winter Season

November to February – it is winter time in Sri Lanka. Temperature dips more making this time the coolest phase of the year. Average temperature ranges from 13 to 20 degree Celsius. In Nuwara Eliya, night temperature sometimes drops to -2 degree Celsius.

I would say my overall trip was fine but there is scope of improvement when it comes to itinerary and planning. We could not cover a lot of points irrespective of the fact we started everyday as early as 9am. We barely got any time to shop in Colombo, in fact Lotus tower was the only place we could vidit after our arrival to Colombo and the cab driver didn't let us shop the next day or on our last day when we headed 5-6 hours early to the airport. The hotels were good except for the fact that two of them had no lifts but we had to climb stairs which was not beforehand. In fact the hotel which had a great view in Kandy, I requested the agent if we could stay there instead of going to Nuwara eliya but since it was last minute it was not acceptable. I would give 3 out 5 as there is scope of having better experience. My best memory is the time we spent in the Millennium elephant orphanage where we fed and bathed the elephant and walked with one.

Overall, the trip was satisfactory. We were travelling with a 1.5 year old kid and obviously it was tough and felt we were always on the road. Pros: The guide Charitha has good knowledge of all the places and took care of us well. Would use his service again. Value for money package Cons: Overall better planning could have been done by Miss Roshell, especially between Nuwara eliya and bentota stretch - on the road for 7 hours, exhausting. Communication with Mr Charitha could have been better meaning he was bit pushy about taking us to every place on the itinerary inspite of us insisting that we did not want to go to all the places because of the baby.

Arrangements were good, just the hotel in Nuwara Eliya was not up to the mark, food was also not good. But other hotels and services were too good. Driver and cab was good. Visiting Sriramajayam Temple in Nuwara Eliya The mini Switzerland was one of the best place, Marino Beach Hotel stay and the food, stay at Earl Reef. Train ride from Nanu Oya to Ella was amazing.

Joshua's 7 days trip to Sri Lanka

My family and I had an amazing 7-day holiday in Sri Lanka with Travco Adventures. The places we visited like Sigiriya, Dambulla, Kandy, and Nuwara Eliya had the perfect atmosphere and cool weather. Our driver was very nice and showed us around the most throughout the day, taking us to temples and picturesque views. It was a unique experience that we will always remember. We will definitely be coming back to Sri Lanka and Travel Triangle for our future holidays with family and friends. Thank you for a splendid vacation!

Muhammad's 7 days trip to Sri Lanka

Overall experience was good but very uncomfortable , driver was professional, humble and knowledgeable, car was decent, though we didn’t get what we had paid for and definitely we’ll never opt for travco in future. Since my wife is in her final trimester we requested the the travel agent to cut-short our trip skipping sigriya , dambulla and bentotta and keeping 2 days at one destination so that we don’t have to hop from one hotel to another every single day. We covered colombo, kandy, nurwa elliya and ella in 8 days. But the room provided to us were not what we paid for. Both in kandy and nurwa eliyya on first day there was no view/ balcony and we were forced to adjust on day one and were provided the promised room on day 2. UpOn confirming with the hotel reception we were told that the travel agent was told about the unavailability of the room on the provided dates. He played smart, keeping us in dark and had the audacity to threaten us to cancel the trip in nurwa eliya upon complaining when it happened for the second time in nurwa eliyya. So technically we cut short 3 destinations, paid more than the initial quotation and switched rooms every single day for 8 days pretty much adding to the discomfort. Secondly, considering my wife’s pregnancy in mind we preponed the trip by one day without any change in the itinerary thereby adding extra day in colombo to rest and readily paid extra for one day accommodation plus airport transport( that was covered in trip). Travel agent said his service is from airport to airport so if we are coming one day before we’ve to pay extra for airport to colombo transfer. We paid without arguing but we strongly feel this could have been avoided. Thirdly, travel agent always increased the price by 10-15 usd saying the economic conditions in srilanka isn’t good which is clearly unprofessional. Moreover he provided the wrong booking name in all four hotels adding to the confusion.

The booking experience with Trip Travel Hub was good, but i recommend people to get activity included properly in the itinerary as driver cum guide follow that only. Our Chauffeur Mr.Sugath was punctual & polite through the trip. I recommend people to search & get activity included in the itinerary. You need to push them for covering your activity else they will cover the default activity. Kandy was boring for us as tooth relic temple , spice garden all were boring according to our taste. As requested trip travel hub were unable to arrange train ticket which was spoiler. But drive towards Nuwara eliya was good & Sita Amma temple visit was also good. Drive towards bentota was very hectic as it took 7hours or whole day. Best part of our trip was at Benota, Beaches were awesome , clean & relaxing. There are many hotel on beaches you can search yourself & dont include dinner with hotel. You can stay near Hikkaduwa beach & then there are many eateries to explore for local fish cuisine. There are many beaches so you can plan 3 night stay at benota also. Turtle Hatchery was worth the cost. Madu river safari was also good. All in all good experience. If you like beaches more you can stay in benota area for your whole 4 or 5 night trip. Mr.Kavindu was good with our booking & answering our query. Only issue we faced was getting itinerary modified as per our requirement.

Urmi's 5 days trip to Sri Lanka

We went for a 5 nights 6 days trip to Sri Lanka and Minoshaa from Romano Lanka took care of literally everything about the trip. The few things which needed to be taken care of in Sri Lanka itself like entry tickets to orphanage or cultural show etc, Prabudda, who was our 24*7 guide, helped in everything. We are extremely satisfied with the service and guidance we got from Prabudda in Sri Lanka, while Minoshaa was constantly available over WhatsApp whenever we needed anything. We have covered 5 places - Sigiriya, Kandy, Nuwara Eliya, Mirissa and Bentota. Very nice hotels were chosen, Minoshaa understood our choice and requirements perfectly. One must experience the train ride in Sri Lanka, it's truly the most beautiful! We planned the trip only with 2 weeks in hand, still Minoshaa took care of all our requirements and managed the whole trip so nicely! Thanks a lot Romano Lanka and team to take care of everything and make our anniversary trip so memorable. The train ride from Nuwara Eliya to Mirissa. And Nuwara Eliya day tour.

*** MUST READ before booking *** Starting with great things with the booking I made for February 2024. The cab provided and the driver were great the driver was more like companion taking care of smallest of things you may need, nice and patient driver. Clean and spacious car. So all good there. Now, starting with other unpleasant things. The moment you get down the Travco representative Mr . Shanil (other than the driver )meets me and persistently tells me to make the balance payment in cash before starting your trip in Sri Lanka. And when I make the payment they don’t reflect that on travel triangle portal until I have finished the trip and back home. No reason why!!! As I reached Nuwara Eliya from Kandy I had motion sickness due to the terrain and hence requested and different route with less mountainous roads but slightly longer (50-60km) , which I was fine with. Now, Mr. Shanil from Travco tells me the I can’t travel more km as number of km covered in the package are limited

Hi, I wanted to write a feedback for your company so that you can manage booking from local agents with more information and genuinety As we were promised that all properties we will be staying will be 4 star category and were charged 1000 dollars for our trip plus 50 dollars for TCS. The day I paid advance of 150 dollars ,soon second day instead of recieving the confirmation of booking I was told out of 5 hotels selected , I need to change 3 hotels as they were not available, Is it a good way to deal ? I mean when I confirmed with you the bookings, how come second day you say that those hotels are booked now and I have to look for another properties? Overall for my stay, the first hotel at kandy , was only a 4 star category hotel. The second stay hotel at nuwara elle was a 2 star category , the location was upside a hill and our room was old one on the property for which we had to climb 40 stairs up on hill. I clearly mentioned to your agent in srilanka I am taking my 65 years old mother , then also I was alloted such a room. The third stay at elle, the hotel was situated 4 kms outside city limits. The internet was not working in hotel and there was nothing to do there. The forth stay at joes resort at bendota, the room didn't had tv, there was no intercom connection and internet was very weak too, had to again and again reconnect.the ac was not working so at night around 10 pm we had to shift to another room. Ac are literally 10 years old and the fans in rooms might be more older and all rusted. The hotel need good repair and replacements. Only saving grace was the staff at the hotel. The ac was not working, so at night 10 pm.we had to shift room and the ac in another room.also stopped midnight. This property really needs repair The last stay at colombo " Mandarin " was good..so.overall only first hotel kandy and last one at colombo were really 3-4 star properties. Rest the properties were 2 star and not advisable at all. Now being in travels and tours sector ,you tell me,this are all 4 star properties, really the 4 star properties are like this ? The only saving grace was the taxi snd the driver "WASANTHA" ,HE WAS A TRUE GENTLEMAN AND A GOOD GUIDE. The agent should have been genuine to us, this all spoils the mood of travellers and the travel plans. The agent was respondent enough to ask about the journey and take feedback on a daily basis the taxi driver was good enough but the problem which we faced was hotels and service. We also clearly mentioned we are vegetarians, the hotels offered food, but it was not good as per Indian taste.if we could have got hotels in city limits, we could have access to other hotels for food. It's a suggestion ,kindly be frank and genuine to clients and tell them the facts, so that they don't get disappointed when they travel. Saurabh 9011060977
