How to Reach Florence

Florence is a capital city of Italy’s Tuscany region. It is a city which is well known for its art. The walls of the city have safeguarded the grandiose of the masterpieces. It is on the bank of Arno River. The city is a Romantic and enchanting one. It is famous for its food and wine. The fashion industry was born here. Monuments and building here tell the stories of art, war, and life. Signoria Square also known as the Piazza Della Signoria is a unique square in Italy. It is in a unique L shape. It has been symbolic of civic life. It has a great cluster of statues. Michelangelo’s David is one of the most famous statues in Piazza Della. The statue is one of the oldest statues in the world. Accademia Gallery is a vast Museum which earlier was an art gallery. It has a collection from the art of Renaissance. The museum exhibits fine masterpieces which is accompanied by a Musical Instrument Museum. Uffizi Gallery is one of the best galleries in the world. There are 45 rooms in it which depict immense artistic patrimony. Here is a huge collection of paintings from middle age to modern. Duomo of Florence is the cathedral of Santa Maria du Fiore. It has Baptistery and Giotto’s bell tower. It is the fifth largest in the world. The church has gone through an endless series of transformation.

By Air

Florence has 2 airports near it. One is Florence International Airport which is 4 kms away from the city. The other is Pisa International Airport which is 85 kms away from the city. Pisa is a major airport and has many flights coming here. Florence has less of air traffic.

By Train

The express train network of Rome enables one to reach here from different cities via express trains. There are 3 main railway stations in Florence. Firenze SMN is the most famous. Firenze Campo Di is another and Firenze Refried is also one. One can take any express train like one runs from Rome to Milan and get down here.

By Road

Florence is a compact city. One can best explore the city by walking. The main historic centre here can be walked around from one end to another in 15 minutes maximum.

Bus routes also operate within the city. The network is separated into 2 lines. One is the city Centre line which has 4 routes C1, C2, C3, D. It moves around the historic centre.

Another route is ATAF and LI-MA bus which caters to the suburban areas.

There are Airport buses as well. The Volain bus takes you to Florence Airport in 20 minutes and Terra-vision takes one to Pisa Airport in 70 minutes. The airport buses are available from SMN station and they also drop you here from the airport.

I was not happy with how few things were co -ordinated . Received the vouchers end moment leaving very little time to review . Infact the train voucher for venice was created for station very far off my hotel while there was a sation just at the walking distance (100m) from my hotel. I had to bear a

n expense of 50 Euro unnecessarlity for the transfer to hotel from station and i expected atleast a partial refund of my loss which never happened . Also, I had paid for the airport transfer for my return flight and its yet not reimbursed or acknowledged over mail. I just hada verbal and wats app communictaion with Yusuf. Regarding the entry tickets- considering Italy was extremely hot Collosium entry tickets were for 12pm noon , it could have been booked for an early evening or morning , I had to skip it as it was unabearbly hot . And there were lot of other gaps which i think should have been well communicated and discussed with me before they purchased the tickets (entry tickets)
