Best Time To Visit Tokyo

December to February (2°C to 12°C): The months of December to February bring with themselves the winter season in Tokyo. Tokyo climate during this time is not termed as a good time to visit the city since the temperature regularly falls below zero, especially during the evenings. Since this is not the high tourist season, special offers on day trips, sightseeing packages, and accommodation options can be expected. The onset of New Year festivities does result in an increase in the prices again. New Year’s celebrations and the Emperor’s Birthday is also held during December.

September to November (9°C to 21°C): This is the best time to visit Tokyo, thanks to the mild temperatures, which become chillier during the evenings. There are also chances of intermittent rainfall, especially during late October but they don’t interfere with any sightseeing plans. This is the fall season in Tokyo, thereby bringing closure to the heat and humidity that the city witnessed during the summer months. The Tokyo International Festival is held during this time, as well as the Shichi Go San Festival.

June to August (19°C to 31°C): This is the summer season in Tokyo, and it is not advisable to visit the city during this season. The heat and humidity make it impossible to plan a day out without sweating profusely. This is also the Tokyo monsoon season, with the months of June and July witnessing maximum rainfall. Travelers who do end up experiencing summer in Tokyo during this time can enjoy the Asakusa Samba Festival and the Sumida River Fireworks show in August and July, respectively.

March to May (6°C to 23°C): These months are the best time to visit Tokyo, with comfortable day time temperatures and pleasant, breezy evenings. This is the time when locals enjoy their time out as well, with the cherry blossoms in full bloom during late March. It is actually a glorious time to be in Tokyo, with almost the entire city painted in hues of pink and a very agreeable Tokyo weather. There are plenty of festivities held here during this time such as Art Fair Tokyo, AnimeJapan, and Golden Week, a whole week of amazing festivals and events.

The heat and humidity of Tokyo during the summers is high, and makes it an uncomfortable affair to enjoy a day out. The monsoon season, from June to beginning of August, in Tokyo occurs during the same time as the summer season. The annual rainfall in the city averages to almost 1,530 millimetres over a year.

Winter Season in Tokyo

Expect a lot cool weather in Tokyo during this time, and although snow is rare, there are plenty of other activities to enjoy in Tokyo such as hot springs, cultural festivals, musical events and so on. This is a good time to visit the city, but it is imperative to bundle up well in heavy woolens, especially if planning to stay out during the night.

Aradhanapia's 13 days trip to Tokyo

Thanks for a nice trip. There were many positives and nice / polite helps which enables this marvelous trip. If you want an appreciation mail, We can give a detailed one separately. In this mail we are concentrating on improvement points. There were several errors and faults/gaps that could have been easily avoided. Overall we would like to rate the trip as 3.8 out of 5 scale regarding your help and service. The points to be noted. 1 ) In the bus from Haneda airport the driver asked " which Apa hotel you are going ? ... There are many Apa Hotels ? You should have told us ( Aradhana Family and the driver ) that the Apa Hotel near Nishi Shinjuku Gochome station is where we are going. I am attaching a screenshot from google maps in this discussion. You can help your customers with these kind of screen shot maps. As we were not sure, the driver found out with lot of trying with Japanese maps. 2 ) In Haneda airport we were busy locating the driver and searching for data card, so that we can establish communication. The condition that Tokyo metro pass can be activated only from Haneda airport was a big error choice from your side. We missed that and lost that pass fully. Metro train pass can be easily bought anywhere. You should have left that option to us, in case the driver did not turn up. 3 ) For Tokyo tour the bases leaves from a building next to Shinjuku police station. The police station is very prominently known by all. While searching " Love Building " or Love sign or Love statue in front of some building we realized that almost everyone does not speak English, nor there is any building named as " Love Building ". It was 1 chome Building and on the Footpath LOVE is made by structure. 3 ) At Toyoma no one speaks English. The Boys and Girls, Men and Women in Hotel counter also do not speak English. There was big confusion to realize that our rooms were booked the Number to Annex building 1/2 km away in Toyoko Inn Hotel chain and not in the main one near the station. If it was in the building near the station it would have been only 1 km walk with lots of luggage. We had to walk 1/2 km more. There was no lock in the bathrooms of the rooms to Toyoko Inn Hotel ( annex 2 ). These kind of rooms are dangerous as can cause major misunderstanding is someone enters the bathroom, while someone else is using it. 4 ) At Nagoa The Red Planet Hotel was very nice. But very far from Main Railway station. You should have advised us to go to the Hotel by Taxi from Station. We took train to a small station and then walked more than 2 km with luggage, as we were not sure of the best choices. 5 ) In general try to communicate to people with description of multiple landmarks. Your decision of sending our passports to Bangalore office after being rejected from Delhi should have been told to us. We were not aware of these decisions taken by you. We came to know about Visa delay very late. As per our understanding of dates, you sat on our passport, without any action for almost 1 week,( at Gurgaon ) and then rushed around. This is the main reason why we rated your service as 3.8 out of 5. Thanks and Regards Aradhana and Subhashish
