Nearest airport to Hampi is Jindal Vijaynagar Airport (VDY), located near Bellary around 40 km from Hampi. The nearest relatively major airport is at Hubli, 143 km away from Hampi. Although, Hampi has no airport, to reach from Chennai to Hampi by air, tourists have to board a flight from Chennai to reach Bangalore. From Bangalore, vacationers can board a bus to reach Hospet or Hampi.

By Train

Nearest railway station to Hampi is Hospet as Hampi does not have a railway station. There is no direct Chennai to Hampi train. So, it is best to take train with train number 07323 from Chennai to Hospet then take a taxi from Hospet to Hampi.

By Road

 

Chennai to Hampi distance via road is 611 km that is conveniently traveled by State transport buses. Tourists can also choose to take a road trip to Hampi from Chennai, while taking a cab on rent. Package cost is too high for just 3 days. Driver was obedient but not much interactive. Smooth driving and trip went really well. Good assistance by travel agent Rahul. But I feel this package cost is little high. Toy Train experience was amazing. Good hotel view but still it's under construction.

The Akshay palace is not even a 2 star hotel The washrooms was unclean The bed smelled of urine Breakfast / lunch area was also unclean. On top of it a very small room for 4 people. Overall not a good hotel. Jungle hill resort A good hotel to stay. Very good staff. Food options are very limited. They have only 1 cook. Driver Excellent driver Sunil Shetty. Very knowledgeable. website wont allow me to rate low, it wont allow me to submit rating unless i give good rating.(I have a video proof to prove about this rating scam) Terrible experience with dream yatra agency from Travel Triangle, after completion of my trip on march 11, I got calls from some transport team on 15th March saying the agency didnot pay the balance amount to them, even though everything was paid to agency before trip itself. transport team called me frequently saying agency is not responding to them. when i tried to contact Rakesh from Dream yatra I could not connect via call to his number, later when I finally got touch with him on whatsapp and told him the transport is calling me frequently, he was so rude, told me to inform the transport team myself that payment will be released on monday which is his duty. He later told me directly not to call him again for this matter even though transport team is calling me frequently for update. Is that a customer duty to take care of bills to third party even after paying everything to agency?? such a unprofessional agency it is. and this portal wont let me submit the review unless i give good star rating to agency what kind of a stupid service is this.
