Srinagar International Airport (SXR) is the closest airport to Gulmarg which is 56 KMs from Gulmarg. Both nonstop flights and indirect flights are available between Chennai and Srinagar. Top airlines operating between them are Air India, Spice Jet, Indigo, Jet Airways and Alliance Air. Some of the stopovers for indirect flights are Mumbai, Dehradun, New Delhi, Pune and Leh.

Chennai to Gulmarg by Train: The closest railway station to Gulmarg is Jammu Tawi railway station at a distance of 290 KMs from Gulmarg. All trains from Chennai to Gulmarg leaves from Chennai Central. It takes approximately forty four hours and fifty minutes to reach Jammu from Chennai. Andaman Express is the most popular direct train between Chennai and Jammu. There are also many other connecting trains available for this route in which you need to switch to another train to complete this journey.
