Mumbai to Gulmarg by Air: Mumbai is served by the Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport (BOM). Since there is no airport in Gulmarg, you need to take a flight till Srinagar International Airport (SXR), which is the closest airport to Gulmarg. Both nonstop flights and indirect flights are available on this route. The leading airlines operating on this route are Indigo, Go Air, Jet Airways and Air India. Mumbai to Gulmarg by Train: Trains from Mumbai start from Mumbai Bandra Terminus or Mumbai Central. Due the unavailability of railway station in Gulmarg, you need to reach Jammu Tawi railway station and then take a cab or bus to reach Gulmarg. The hotels in Katra and Srinagar were quiet good. The best hotel was Petals of Chinar in Srinagar. The Hotel Pahalgam Suits was good but the rooms were quiet small and the water was dirty and smelly. The Divine Oak Golden leaf hotel was good on first visit, but during the last visit the bathrooms were unclean. Also the dining area had grey water leakage at multiple places which was not taken care of for over a week's time. We literally had to have our breakfast and dinner in smelly dinning room. Apart from these small things, the hotels were good. The cab driver was amazing and the service agent was good too.
