Srinagar to Gulmarg by Road: By Bus: The best way to travel from Srinagar to Gulmarg is by road.  To cover the 51 KMs distance between Srinagar to Gulmarg, you can travel by Srinagar to Tangmarg road. Local buses are available up to Tangmarg market from where the mini coaches or jeeps can be hired to reach Gulmarg. It takes approximately one hour and twelve minutes to reach Gulmarg from Srinagar. No AC bus is available on this route. The popular bus operators are JKSRTC Buses, TRC Srinagar.By Car: One can also opt to drive to Gulmarg from Srinagar. Since it is a short distance, one can easily cover it through a road trip as well. Whether you opt to take a taxi or drive yourself, it is recommended to enquire about the road conditions of the area, especially during winters.

The hotels in Katra and Srinagar were quiet good. The best hotel was Petals of Chinar in Srinagar. The Hotel Pahalgam Suits was good but the rooms were quiet small and the water was dirty and smelly. The Divine Oak Golden leaf hotel was good on first visit, but during the last visit the bathrooms were unclean. Also the dining area had grey water leakage at multiple places which was not taken care of for over a week's time. We literally had to have our breakfast and dinner in smelly dinning room. Apart from these small things, the hotels were good. The cab driver was amazing and the service agent was good too.
