How To Reach Krishnapuram Palace

Famous for its the mural paintings and architecture, Krishnapuram Palace is a very popular destination for tourists visiting Alappuzha. The major attraction of the place is its mural, Gajendra Moksham - the largest single band of mural painting so far discovered in Kerala.

The following information will help you determine how to reach Krishnapuram Palace via the different modes of transport available:-

Location: Krishnapuram Palace is located at Oachira Road near Kayamkulam in the Alappuzha district of Kerala.

By Air:

The Trivandrum International Airport is located at a distance of 103 km from Krishnapuram Palace. The Cochin International Airport is at about 132 kms. One must pre-book their taxis to the destination, else they may get charged higher than the usual rates.

By Rail:

The Kayamkulam station is the closest railway station to Krishnapuram Palace. It lies merely 2 km away. Cheppad and Oachira are other railway stations in the vicinity. Kollam is the biggest railway junction in this area lying at a distance of 39 km from the palace. You can easily get taxis and autorickshaws outside all these railway stations.

By Road:

Krishnapuram Palace is easily accessible by road. By road, Kayamkulam is about 47 kms from Alappuzha town en route Kollam on the NH-47. The nearest bus station is Kayamkulam, which is 2 km away.

      We recently embarked on a 7-day, 6-night Kerala trip with Travel Triangle, guided by agent Robin. Our itinerary covered Munnar, Thekkady, Alleppey, Kovalam, Poovar, and Kanyakumari. While the trip had its ups and downs, the overall experience was enjoyable. Highlights: * Houseboat Stay & Food: The
      houseboat experience was undoubtedly the highlight of our trip. The tranquil backwaters, delicious food, and comfortable accommodations made it a memorable stay. * Thekkady Hotel: We were pleasantly surprised by the quality of our hotel in Thekkady. It provided a comfortable and convenient base for exploring the surrounding attractions. Areas for Improvement: * Munnar Hotel Location: The hotel's location in Munnar was a bit disappointing. It was not ideal for evening strolls and was quite far from the main town. * Kovalam Hotel: While the room itself was decent, the overall hotel experience was not up to par. The standard level of the hotel and the lack of sea views from the rooms were drawbacks. Overall, our Kerala trip was an enriching experience, with the houseboat stay and Thekkady hotel being the standout points. We hope that future travelers can benefit from our feedback and make the most of their Kerala journeys.

The room decoration, cake, and candlelight dinner were beautifully arranged, and their food was absolutely delicious. Woodnote Resort also provided a great experie
      nce. However, Princess De Munnar fell short of expectations as they didn't even provide basic amenities like a dental kit, toilet paper, or a tea-making kit. Our cab driver, Mr. Siraj, was very helpful, keeping the car clean and assisting us in finding the best restaurants for food.
