Boating and Other Ticket Charges

Boating is the one add-on most visitors pay for. Pedal boats and row boats run on the canal and the wetland channels, and you buy that ticket separately at the boating counter inside, not at the main gate. Rates depend on the boat and the ride length, so check the board at the counter on the day. Handheld and phone photography is fine on the standard entry ticket. What Your Entry Ticket Includes

• Musical fountain. The evening show is the crowd favourite, best caught after sundown when the lights come on.

• Bird sanctuary and birdwatching. The restored wetland pulls in resident and migratory birds, so carry binoculars if you have them.

• Butterfly park. A landscaped zone that is easy to enjoy with children on a slow morning walk.

• Aquarium. A small indoor stop that works well when the afternoon sun is strong.

• Otter park. One of the park's talked-about residents and a hit with younger visitors.

• Mangrove boardwalk and floating rafts. Raised walkways take you out over the wetland and canal without disturbing the eco-zone.

• Open-air theatre and walking track. An amphitheatre for occasional programmes, plus a jogging and walking track locals use in the cool hours.

How to Reach Sarovaram Bio Park

The park is at Kottooli, close to the centre of Kozhikode, about 6 km from Kozhikode railway station, roughly a 15 to 20 minute auto or taxi ride. Best Time to Visit and About the Park

The comfortable window runs from September to May, after the heavy monsoon, when the paths dry out and the wetland is at its best. Late afternoon into evening is the sweet spot on any given day, cooler for walking and timed for the musical fountain. Sarovaram Bio Park is a restored mangrove wetland eco-park at Kottooli, laid out over roughly 200 acres along the Canoly Canal that links the Korapuzha and Kallayi rivers.
