About Kozhikode Attractions

A serene little coastal city in Kerala, Kozhikode, also referred to as Calicut, is a popular tourist destination of the state.

Although not very popular among regular tourists, it is well on its way to becoming one of the most sought after places to visit in Kerala thanks to its sublime beauty and rich culture and heritage. Kozhikode tourism is all about sun-kissed beaches, family picnics, heritage monuments, delicious seafood, scenic parks, twisting pathways and much much more.

This Kozhikode travel guide is the ideal way to gain knowledge about the destination before reaching there. From historic monuments to shopping destinations, from party hubs to religious spots, from local cuisine to high-end restaurants, from serene beaches to fragrant spice gardens, from wildlife sanctuaries and national parks to view points that offer the best view of a sunset, all that a traveler needs to know about Kozhikode is part of this Kozhikode travel guide.

Talking about tourism in Kozhikode can’t be done without a talk about the spices available here. Kozhikode used to be known as the “City of Spices” in the Middle Ages, thanks to the acres and acres of fragrant forests and gardens of spices. An important spice trade center, Kozhikode soon became a household name. To this day it is said to be one of the best places to visit for purchasing spices.

There are plenty of places to visit in Kozhikode, including the much acclaimed Kozhikode beach, which houses numerous seafood shacks, small shops selling knick knacks, an aquarium as well as a sizable playground for children. It is a favorite destination among those looking to spend some quality time with their family or friends. Another favorite beach for families in Kozhikode is Beypore Beach, where visitors can also enjoy a few beach games. The Mananchira Reservoir is another great place to spend a couple of hours in quiet contemplation.

When talking about Kozhikode, can Kadalundi Bird Sanctuary be far behind? It is the ideal habitat for hundreds of species of birds, fishes, and crustaceans among others. It is actually built on several small islands, with a slew of connecting lagoons and deltas making it an accessible and fun place to visit.

All in all, Kozhikode tourism is a good way to bond with the beauty of nature in Kerala, as well as enjoy some lip-smacking delicacies, visit a few temples, soak up the sun on a few beaches, and partake of a relaxing holiday.

Vikas's 3 days trip to Kozhikode

The resort in munnar was not at all good. The rooms and location was good but when it comes to good they serve you the left over food and don't prepare it fresh. I have a very bad experience from aranayka resort. I have recorded the videos also of their resturant incharge accepting his mistake that they cheated when I ordered the meals. Serene Horizon was awesome
