How to Reach Ujjain

While there are no airports in Ujjain, one can travel by flight to the nearest airport, which is Devi Ahilyabai Holkar Airport, Indore. Both domestic as well as international tarvellers can board at this airport. The distance between Indore Airport and Ujjain city is approximately 56 km and takes around an hour to reach Ujjain by road. You can either book a cab or take any public transport from the airport which will easily take you to Ujjain.

Ujjain, being a significant part of the state of Madhya Pradesh, has a well-connected railway network to all the major cities in India. The closest railway station to Ujjain is Ujjain Railway Junction which is on the Western Railway Zone. Regular trains from different major cities in India run here daily to the Ujjain Junction. There is easy access to any part of the city by private or public transport from the train station. This mode of transportation is the cheapest to travel.

Ujjain is well connected to all nearby towns and cities of the state, therefore, if you are traveling from a nearby area it's best to travel by road. The city has well-connected routes and efficient public transportation services.
