In 2017, the airport in Shirdi (SAG) was inaugurated by Ram Nath Kovind, president of India. This airport now receives flights from all major cities in India, including Chennai. Many major airlines send flights on a daily basis at affordable rates. It takes about 2 hours to travel to Shirdi from Chennai and flight tickets start at Rs 2500-- prices may vary according to the season.

Chennai to Shirdi by train

The SNSI Chennai Express is a high speed express train that plies between the two cities, and takes about 25 hours of travel to reach your destination. This is the only direct train that travels this route, and plies daily.

Chennai to Shirdi by road

Travelling to Shirdi by road is generally not recommended as it is quite a distance away and will take more than a day’s worth of non stop driving to reach there.

By bus

There are quite a number of direct buses running from Chennai to Shirdi. If you intent on travelling by road and enjoying the sights on the way, you can board any of the many major buses that ply daily from Chennai’s Bus Depots to Shirdi.
