People and Culture in Maharashtra
To know more about Maharashtra, one should also try to understand the people here as well as the culture they follow. The Indian state of Maharashtra ranks second when the world’s most populous subnational entities are considered. Since the population is huge here, the cultural dynamics here are naturally prominent. Officially, the language spoken by the people of Maharashtra is Marathi and the dialect seems to be varying from one region to another. However, there’s a lot of influence from the neighboring states. You can even find that there are people who speak other languages like Kannada, Konkani, and Gujarati in some of the regions. One of the biggest reasons of the development of Maharashtra state tourism is its culture only. The people are quite welcoming and it is not difficult to break the ice with them.
Historical Significance of Maharashtra
This Indian state was under the rule of the Maurya Empire and this scenario takes you back to the 4th and 3rd centuries B.C.E. After that, there were many empires and dynasties under which the state was ruled. The British Empire ruled the wester region of Maharashtra, which they considered as the Bombay Presidency. This presidency constituted the divisions of Nashik, Pune, and Konkan.
