There is no railway connectivity from India to Malaysia. However, there are many trains from either Penang or Singapore. The Penang to Kuala Lumpur distance is around 350 km, which is the same distance between Singapore and Kuala Lumpur. The trains take around 9 hours to take the travelers from one place to another, and one must travel in them at least once to have an experience of the Malaysian modes of transportation.

By Road

Reaching Kuala Lumpur from Penang by road can be one of the best options for a road trip. Everything was great until we reached Malaysia. The driver, Happy Josan—an Indian man pretending to be Malaysian—was extremely rude. He drove recklessly at speeds of 130-140 km/h and was always in a hurry. Because of him, we couldn’t properly explore Kuala Lumpur, had to cut short our Sunway Lagoon

visit without experiencing key attractions, and faced a similar situation in Genting Highlands due to his impatience. On the other hand, Ajit Pal Sir and Arjan Sir were kind and courteous. We requested a change of driver to either of them, but despite our request, Hiralal Ji still assigned us Happy Josan. If you are considering these drivers for a Malaysia tour, be aware of these issues.
