One can access Nepal border from Kolkata either by a direct Air India flight, available on most days of the week. As the second option, the Kolkata-Siliguri-Bagdogra route is quite an exciting one to go for.
Here’s how to reach Nepal from Kolkata using different means of transport.
By Air: Air India operates the only direct Kolkata to Nepal flight on most days of the week. Other airlines like Jet Airways and Indigo have connecting flights via Delhi. However, if the flight one is getting on the day of the trip is not connecting, one can instead go for the road trip as it promises a beautiful landscape.

However, one can take a train to NJP station in Siliguri and either take a Kolkata to Nepal bus from Siliguri Bus Station or drive up themselves. Another option is to fly to Bagdogra from Kolkata and drive to Nepal border at Panitanki-Kakarbhitta which is only 30 minutes away.
By Train: There is Kolkata to Nepal train from Howrah Station, which is just across the River Ganges from the city. There are two trains running – Mithila Express all through the week and Howrah-Raxaul Express only on Wednesdays and Fridays.
