Manali Tour Package (5D/4N): Overview
This Manali tour package from Kerala is a 5-day, 4-night trip that starts from Rs 23,040 per person on twin sharing, with a 4-star stay at the Golden Apple Resort and a return luxury Volvo between Delhi and Manali built into the fare. There is no airport or train station at Manali and no direct service from Kerala, so the one thing you arrange yourself is the flight or train from Kochi, Calicut or Trivandrum up to Delhi. From Delhi the package takes over: an overnight Volvo into the hills, then four days built around the Hadimba Devi Temple, the Rohtang or Solang snow point, the Atal Tunnel run to Sissu and the old shawl valley at Naggar. Every day can be changed, so tell your coordinator whether you are travelling as a family, a couple or a group of friends.

Read the price for what it bundles before you compare it against a teaser rate. It is a 4-star stay with the full return Delhi to Manali Volvo, all local transfers and taxes already inside the fare, not a bare land-only headline that adds the coach and the meals later. What it does not include is your Kerala to Delhi flight or train, because Manali cannot be reached directly from the south.
How To Reach Manali From Kerala (By Flight, By Train, By Road)
Manali has no airport and no railway station of its own, and nothing runs direct from Kerala. Every route north goes through Delhi or Chandigarh first, then up the mountain by road. The package already handles that final Delhi to Manali leg by Volvo, so from Kerala you only need to reach Delhi. Here is how the connection works and what it costs you in time.
| From Kerala by | Route and time | Good to know |
|---|---|---|
| Flight (recommended) | Kochi (COK), Calicut (CCJ) or Trivandrum (TRV) to Delhi (DEL), about 3 hrs nonstop, then the package Volvo Delhi to Manali overnight | Take a morning or midday flight and you comfortably make the evening Volvo boarding point in Delhi by 5 pm |
| Train | Kerala to Delhi (Hazrat Nizamuddin or New Delhi) is roughly 44 to 50 hrs on trains such as the Kerala Express or Rajdhani, then the Volvo up to Manali | Far cheaper than flying but it eats two full days each way; most Kerala travellers fly to Delhi and train only if time is not tight |
| Road | Driving the whole way from Kerala is about 2,800 km and takes days | Nobody drives it for a holiday; fly or train to Delhi and let the package Volvo do the hill drive |
The Delhi to Manali Volvo covers around 530 km in 12 to 14 hours overnight, so you sleep through the ghat sections and wake up near the hills. Manali's nearest airport is Bhuntar, near Kullu, about 50 km from town, but flights there are limited, weather-dependent and almost always route through Delhi anyway, which is why the itinerary is built on the Delhi departure. If you would rather not fly the full way to Delhi, the nearest major railhead to Manali is Chandigarh, about 310 km out and roughly an 8-hour road transfer. To be clear about what you are paying for: the Kerala to Delhi flight or train is on you and is listed under exclusions, while everything from Delhi onward is inside the package. For a wider month-by-month view of the region, our Manali travel guide has the detail.
Day-Wise Itinerary (5 Days, 4 Nights)
Day 1: Kerala to Delhi, then the overnight Volvo to Manali
Fly from Kochi, Calicut or Trivandrum to Delhi in about three hours, or take a train if you are saving the airfare and have the days to spare. Reach the Volvo boarding point in Delhi by around 5 pm. A few free hours in between are enough for a meal or a quick look around before the coach pulls out. The luxury Volvo drives through the night, roughly 12 to 14 hours over about 530 km, and reaches Manali the next morning. Sleep on the way if you can, because the hills start early and the first views come with sunrise.
Day 2: Arrive Manali, Hadimba Temple, Old Manali and local sightseeing
You reach Manali in the morning and check in at the Golden Apple Resort. Rest and freshen up, then head out for a half-day tour once the town wakes up. The Hadimba Devi Temple sits in a cedar grove at Dhungri, a pagoda-style shrine that stays cool and quiet in the late afternoon. From there it is a short hop to the Gadhan Thekchhokling Gompa, the Tibetan monastery near Mall Road, open 6 am to 6 pm every day except Sunday. Cross the river to Old Manali for the Manu Temple, dedicated to the sage Manu, and the riverside cafes, then stop at Vashisht village for its natural hot-water springs. Wind up with an evening on Mall Road before dinner and your overnight stay.
Day 3: Solang Valley or Rohtang Pass, with the Atal Tunnel to Sissu option
After breakfast you drive up toward the Rohtang snow point through the Gulaba and Marhi stretch, one of the prettiest drives of the trip. Rohtang closes on Tuesdays and through the deep-winter months and needs a permit, so on those dates the tour shifts to Solang Valley, where the snow is just as good for photos. Solang is the activity hub: paragliding off the slope, the cable-car ropeway up the ridge, zorbing down the meadow, and skiing or snow sledging in season. As a modern alternative your coordinator can route the day through the Atal Tunnel, at just over 9 km one of the longest high-altitude road tunnels anywhere, which drops you into the Lahaul valley at Sissu with its waterfall and open river flats about 90 minutes from Manali. Dinner and the night are back in Manali.
Day 4: Naggar Castle, the Kullu shawl valley and Jagatsukh
Today you head down the valley toward Kullu and Naggar for a slower, greener day. At Naggar you tour the centuries-old Naggar Castle, once a royal seat, and visit the temple cluster around it, including the Gauri Shankar temple and the old shrines at Jagatsukh. On the way back you stop at the Kullu shawl and handloom workshops, a good place to pick up a genuine Kullu shawl or a Himachali cap. If you would rather trade a temple morning for the Parvati valley, ask about adding Manikaran, about two and a half to three hours away, known for its hot springs and gurudwara. You return to Manali by evening for dinner and your last night in the hills.
Day 5: Departure, Volvo back to Delhi
Enjoy a relaxed breakfast and check out. Depending on your onward booking you can spend the morning on a last Mall Road walk for shawls, wood carvings and handicrafts before the drive. The return Volvo leaves for Delhi and travels overnight, reaching the city the next morning, from where you catch your homebound flight or train back to Kerala. Ask your coordinator to align the Volvo timing with your Kerala connection so the transfer at Delhi is comfortable rather than rushed.
Places You Will Cover On This Trip
The tour keeps its base in Manali and works outward, so you see the town's set-pieces and the two or three big day-trips without a punishing amount of driving.
• Hadimba Devi Temple. A pagoda-style temple in a cedar forest at Dhungri, and the town's headline sight. Late afternoon is the calmest time to visit.
• Old Manali and Manu Temple. The old side of town across the Beas, with the Manu Temple, slow riverside cafes and a walkable lane of shops.
• Rohtang Pass and Solang Valley. The snow point and the activity slope. Rohtang for the higher drive and the permit-day experience, Solang for paragliding, the ropeway, zorbing and skiing in season.
• Atal Tunnel and Sissu. The modern day-trip through a 9 km tunnel into the Lahaul valley, with Sissu's waterfall and river flats about 90 minutes from Manali.
• Naggar Castle and Jagatsukh. The royal castle, the Gauri Shankar temple and the Jagatsukh shrines, plus the Kullu shawl workshops on the drive back.
• Manikaran (optional). An optional Parvati-valley add-on, about two and a half to three hours from Manali, known for its hot springs and gurudwara.

Price, What Drives The Cost, And Cancellation
This package starts at Rs 23,040 per person on twin sharing, land only. It sits above the teaser rates you will see on affiliate listings for a reason: it is a 4-star stay at the Golden Apple Resort with the full return Delhi to Manali Volvo, all local sightseeing transfers, daily breakfast, two dinners and taxes already inside the fare. Many of the cheaper headline prices are three-star, leave the coach or the meals out, or quote a shorter three-night trip, so compare what is actually bundled before you judge on the number alone. Your Kerala to Delhi flight or train sits outside the package, which is the honest reason a real Kerala-to-Manali total lands higher than a bare land-only figure.
A few things move the final price:
• Travel date. Peak dates in May and June and the December-to-January snow weeks cost more than the shoulder months.
• Hotel category. The quoted rate is the 4-star Golden Apple Resort. A premium property or a resort upgrade raises the per-person fare; a three-star swap lowers it.
• Add-ons. Rohtang permits, paragliding, the Solang ropeway and other snow activities are paid locally and are not in the base price.
• Room and transport. Twin sharing is the quoted rate. A private cab in place of the group Volvo, or a solo room, changes the cost.
Cancellation and date changes are handled with your trip coordinator, and the full terms are shared in writing before you pay any advance. Because the hotel rooms and Volvo seats are blocked ahead of your travel date, cancellation charges rise as departure gets closer, so tell us early if your plans shift. If your dates are still uncertain, ask about a flexible date-change option before you book. Our Himachal desk confirms the live fare, the hotel and the Volvo schedule for your travel window before any advance is taken, so the price you approve is the price you pay.
