Kesar Da Dhaba has been popular since 1916 when its Foundation was laid by Lt. Lala Kesar Mal and his wife in Sheikhupura, Pakistan. It moved to Amritsar after the partition in 1947. Serving mouth watering cuisine with traditional Punjabi flavour, Kesar da Dhaba became popular worldwide for the taste and quality of food and has maintained it for a century now. Celebrities and politicians like Lala Lajpat Rai, Jawaharlal Nehru, Indira Gandhi, Yash Chopra, Rajesh Khanna and many others have eaten here and this place has been captured by various media channels including NDTV, BBC news, Discovery etc.
Located at a 10 minutes walk from the Golden Temple, Kesar Da Dhaba is an epicure’s paradise and is most famous for its signature dish Dal Makhani and the sweet creamy Phirni served in earthen bowls. Out of Kesar Da Dhaba menu, the Thali is the most delicious preparations consisting of Plain parathas, dal fry, channa, raita and salad. There legendary dal fry is slowly cooked overnight and tempered freshly before serving. Do not forget to try the palak paneer as well as the stuffed parathas which leave one asking for more.
