It's important to clarify that we were referring to official hotel ratings, not guest reviews. Unfortunately, the agent’s interpretation did not match ours. Three out of the five hotels had ongoing renovation work, which significantly affected our comfort. Although the agent did try to make changes to minimize the inconvenience, the replacement hotels were not of genuine 4-star quality either. The most disappointing experience was the camping stay at Juma Resort in Jaisalmer. The property was infested with crickets, making it uninhabitable. Four families, including ours, ended up leaving the resort and paying out of pocket for alternative accommodation. Unfortunately, this was not even communicated to the travel agent at the time. On a positive note, our request for a rollaway bed for our daughter was fulfilled as expected, which we appreciated. In summary, while the itinerary and driver exceeded our expectations, the hotel arrangements — particularly the Jaisalmer experience — left considerable room for improvement.
