Jodhpur to Jaisalmer distance can be easily covered by road and rail. Jodhpur is the city nearest to Jaisalmer in terms of location and as such travelers tend to visit the two one after the other. The distance between both cities is around 281 kilometers which can be covered in around 4 to 5 hours. Despite it being the closest, Jodhpur is still a fair distance away from Jaisalmer but the road between the two is frequently traveled by visitors and locals alike. Jodhpur To Jaisalmer By Train: Jodhpur being the closest big city to Jaisalmer, there are plenty of trains that go from Jodhpur to Jaisalmer and vice versa. Incidentally, these two cities come as one after the other stops on the itinerary of the Palace on Wheels experience. This journey takes a little over 6 hours by train to complete and is a great option for those making the journey. Jodhpur to Jaisalmer by train is around 291 kilometers and this distance can be covered in around 5 hours. The famous trains that run on this route are Ranikhet Exp (15014), Corbet Prk Line (25014), Bdts Jsm Exp (22931), and Ju Jsm Express (14810).  

 

Jodhpur To Jaisalmer By Road: The distance of 281 kms is covered everyday by a number of buses. Jodhpur being the closest airport to Jaisalmer means that there are a number of developed options to take visitors to Jaisalmer from the city. 

By Bus: State run buses, private buses, all are realistic options for those travelling by road. This becomes a 5 hour long journey by road and as such, it’s a cheap and convenient option to take.

By Car: One can easily self-drive from Jodhpur to Jaisalmer or hire a cab and reach the destination easily. 

 

Jodhpur To Jaisalmer By Air: Jodhpur Airport happens to be the airport closest to Jaisalmer for commercial air travel. The two cities are not directly connected by air.

We booked a 6 days and 5 nights trip to Rajasthan from MY OWN JOURNEY Except on day 1 , Hotels provided are good enough room size are big However for rest of the days there was no confirmation from travel agent which hotel to stay. Note: we booked the package almost 3 months prior to trip. Still on travel day there was no assurance where we will be staying. TRAVEL AGENT SHOULD HAVE PROVIDE CONFIRMATION IN ADVANCE Otherwise hotel stay was good. Vehicle / driver - vehicle we hot is clean and in very good condition. However I felt the driver little bit arrogant In one instance, he refused to dropped us at restaurants for dinner and we have few seniors citizens with us moreover the restaurant was hardly within 1km range So that thing I didn't like. Overall the trip went well Thanks My Own Journey team.

Recently I have completed my trip to golden triangle (Delhi, Agra, Jaipur) with my family. This trip was booked with Trip sailor on travel triangle platform. Initially I was hesitant to use travel triangle since it is a online platform but travel triangle support helped in clearing initial doubts about the platform and then I connected with Preeti Aggarwal from TripSailor. Preeti was helpful and approachable throughout the tour and provided best itinerary with in our budget. During the tour as well she was available all the way over the call. Last but not the least I thank and really appreciate Mr. Man Singh ji our driver for 2 days who made the sight seeing more enjoyable. Stay at Jaigarh palace brought the feel of staying at a palace itself. Heritage Juma camp provided a great hospitality and we could feel of the rich culture of Rajasthan. The food too was awesome. We had some spare time and spend the 3rd day at Pol Haveli (arranged by Hemant Singhji) at a roof top restaurant which was another great add on to the trip. Looking forward for more such trips in future. Stay at Jaigarh palace, Hospitality at Heritage Juma camp, Heavenly breeze at Vyas chatri, Journey from Jaisalmer to Sand dunes (thanks to Man Singhji), Kuldhara village a must visit place.
