Literally translating to “The Middle Land”, Spiti Valley is one of the most charming gifts of nature to Himachal. This cold desert mountain valley offers enthralling views of the Himalayan mountains, and is known for its culture which has a Buddhist influence. The culture, landscape, weather, tranquility, and the pristine face of nature attract a large number of tourists to this valley who flock to this place to escape from the bustling city life. This breathtaking valley is also famous for a number of monasteries which add to the beauty of the place.
As the valley is situated at an enormous height, therefore, it witnesses drastic climatic changes, and hence, one cannot visit this place during any time of the year. The best time to visit Spiti highly depends upon the seasons. Visiting Spiti in winter is strictly not recommended as temperature drops drastically during this season. One can visit Spiti during the summer season which is the best time to visit Lahaul Spiti as the temperature of the valley remains quite pleasant during this season, and hence, it is apt for sightseeing, and outdoor activities. Here’s a seasonal breakup of Spiti Valley weather which will give a better idea about the best time to visit Lahaul Spiti:

Trip to SpitiI had booked a trip to do the tribal circuit in Himachal comprising of Kinnaur/Spiti/Lahaul from Prince Tour and Travels towards 2nd week of September (nearly end Season). And I have a lovely memory of the entire journey. Also I must say that not only they are very wonderful people, but they understand the spirit of the a traveller. It has been a memorable experience with them. Special thanks to their head Mr. Sharma Ji, and Deepika for taking care of us. For fellow travellers, I have a suggestion, please travel in this circuit with atleast 2 weeks of holidays at your hand. - Waking up at Karcham Village's hotel (Rupin Resort) and the view from there was amazing. - Chitkul is yet another amazing spot - Trekking to view key monaestry from a distant spot (Recommended for photographers) - Lakes in the route is not to be forgotten. All of them are beauty in themselves - Kaza monastery morning prayer (8:00AM) try not to miss it!!! - The Grand Statue of Buddha at Lanza village, kibber village is an asset in itself - Chandratal camps

Trip to SpitiHotel and Manali was very good, but cab service was very bad. Driver didn't knew the path 3 times he took wrong route and delayed our journey. While returning for 7 hours constantly we requested driver to switch on AC but he ignored our request, at the end a heated argument let him switch on AC.
Trip to Spitivisited spiti last week, all the arrangements was superb, car driver rattan lal was very experienced, so we executed our trip as per our plannings, agent was cooperative, they negotiated most of our demands, food was too good, over all one more feather in the nest...spiti rocks. www.facebook.com/arijit.sen.in/albums/thecallofspiti
Trip to SpitiAs much as I would recommend Tanish Travels, I would request them to kindly consider looking for an alternate driver (Dharampal). The driver was bad, but to be honest the kind of effort which Mr. Bunty & Mr. Thakur (From Tanish Travels) had put in to ensure our trip was comfortable has to be commended. They in fact went an extra mile to get us a better hotel in Manali, which was clean, big and closer to City Center. I would anyday vouch and recommend people to choose Tanish Travels.
Trip to SpitiMr Thakur who was co-ordinating with us was wise and guiding us through out the trip. He also helped us getting back and made arrangements for our stay at the last minute due to sudden landslide in Manali All the hotels that he had booked were fantastic with awesome view.
