Engelberg Tour Packages

Engelberg Holiday Packages: rated 4.3/5 (based on 4 reviews) | Packages starting from ₹66,000/-

Engelberg Holiday Packages

A small town in Switzerland, Engelberg is in Central Switzerland in the Uri Alps. An Engelberg trip is one with lots of beauty, calmness, and solitude.
You can either choose to spend your holiday like that or take on crazy adventures like skiing- there’s no in-between. There is a vast choice of activities for one to take up.

You can choose to appreciate the beauty of Brunni bathing in sunshine or hike up to the highest suspension bridge in Europe. There’s a lot to do here. The beauty is spellbinding and breathtaking, leaving you speechless by this amazing holiday spot.

The activities at the top are a must-try and included in the ticket price. Once at the top, you are refreshed by the open mountain air, the snow and the excitement to experience as much as you can. This tour shows you nature at its very best and combined with the wonderful people, makes for a brilliant experience.

How to Reach

While you may not find a direct flight for your Engelberg tour, you can always take a flight to Zurich from all major Indian cities. These include Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata, and Bengaluru among others. Flights like KLM, Turkish Airlines, Finnair, and Austrian Airlines, etc. From Zurich, it is about a 2-hour journey to Engelberg via train.

Best time to visit

Winters (December to February)

These months are of temperatures below freezing point with light snow. Engelberg is also exciting during this time because of all the snow adventures on can take up during this time. Engelberg holiday packages booked at this time, especially by people who love winters and want to enjoy the festivities of Christmas markets and the holiday season. And of course, skiing, since Engelberg is primarily is a ski resort.

Spring (March to May)

The spring season is not a great time to visit Engelberg because the ski resorts close and everything is slow. The place is very pretty nonetheless, but there aren’t many activities one can take up during this time. The temperatures are moderate and it’s comfortable for sightseeing but that’s not the prime thing to do here.

Summer (June to September)

A wonderful month to travel to Engelberg, this season makes the highest trails accessible and is great for trekkers. Cable cars and trains are functional again and everything is lush and beautiful. Other fun outdoor activities are also available at this time.

Places to visit

1. Engelberg Abbey

A community of monks that dates back to the 12th century, the Engelberg Abbey has changed over time, but not lost its charm. It burnt down in the 18th century and was later sacked by the Napolean Army. The frescos and architecture are a vision. It has summer recitals too in the evening, making it one of the best places to visit on an Engelberg tour.

2. Titlis

Mount Titlis is the biggest attraction in all of Switzerland. The cable car and gondola rides are a delight when visiting Engelberg. The Uri Alps are beautiful too, offering the perfect backdrop. At the top, you will also find eateries offering piping hot and scrumptious food.

3. Titlis Glacier Cave

This goes back to even before life was discovered in the world. Close to Engelberg, the walls of this place radiate a strange turquoise- blue light because of refracted sunlight. A fun fact about this cave- the temperature here is at a steady -1.5 degrees Celcius.

4. Brunni

The Brunni mountain area is sunny and bright and relatively warmer compared to all other parts of Engelberg. Walk barefoot on this mountain and its walking trails or indulge in other adventures like the summer toboggan run.

5. Trüebsee

An unfrequented area near Engelberg, the lake is exquisite, to say the least, at an elevation of 1788 meters. The lake has a lovely vibe and a beautiful ambiance with many walking paths that you can choose from.

Praveen's 15 days trip to Europe

Travel associate Prashant was very helpful. He was always reachable and was able to resolve the issues quickly. We did not face any major issues. However, few feedbacks on the hotel. Hotel Art de congress in Paris was not upto the mark. The staff was not helpful. Our room AC did not work. Even after complaining for 2 days they never corrected it. Also the toaster in the brekfast room was not working and even after complaining they did not correct it for 2 days. We had pathetic experience at this hotel. Other hotels were fine. We recommend hub holidays and Prashanth for the europe trips. Thank you for making our trip the memorable one. Prabakaran's 7 days trip to Europe

I found a travel triangle through web search, and browsed for better pricing primarily, and got a reasonable quote through my contact point Mr Anmol Verma from Knowravel Holiday Services Private Limited/Hub Holiday. Anmol fine tuned my proposal to visit three countries and gave me an itinerary/Hotel Choices (a self-guided tour in most part) and arranged all the requirements by before the start of the tour. Since I had the last day (12th day) of the tour due to a night flight from Rome, I made a request to change in Itinerary in Rome and be accommodated by Anmol. Also, a request for a compulsory train from Lucerne to Venice was provided. Overall, Anmol was very responsive, and available almost every time I called/messaged and overall, he was pretty good. It was a well planned and packed itinerary, and thanks to Anmol for the same. Day 1: Paris Landed in Paris and transfer to Hotel 11 am. In Paris, got help form google Map app to reach Eiffel Tower. Used metro trains, every time cost 2.1 Euros per person, very comfortable. The summit level view was excellent. Day 2: Paris Bus tour, one day not sufficient to see if need to see museums, some are having entry fee. All monuments are just visited. Had a Sean River Cruise. Day 3: DIsneyland Paris One can use metro followed by RAR train to reach DIsneyland 5 euro per person. Memorable experience in Disneyland considering the advance and excellent rides, a must visit place in Paris for everyone. Day 4: Zurich Used metro to reach Main station to travel to Zurich. Visited Rhine falls and boat ride (6 CHF for 15 min). Day 5: Lucern Used Swisspass to travel to Lucern from Zurich, check in hotel, visited Mount Palatis, surprisingly entry included in Swisspass when we visited. Day 6: Lucern Travelled to Engelberg, visited Mount Titlis. Afternoon, travelled to Mount Rigi. Buses and trains are well connected, can visit both places in a day, as long day light available in summer. Day 7: Interlaken Travelled to Interlaken, Grindelwald, visited glacier canyon (19 euros per person/kids 10 euros), good experience of walking from Grindelwald to Canyon, walked through villages, canals, beautiful views of mountains. Visited Lanturburnn village, saw waterfalls, got panoramic views. One can visit Jungfrau but need to spend more (135 CHF with swiss pass), also First mountain for adventure activities, but we have not done. Back to lucern via Interlaken. Day 8: Venice Train from Arth to Venice, spend evening in Venice streets (like maze!). Day 9: Venice Boat tour Murano, Burano, Torcello, good one. Day 10: Rome Reach Rome from Venice, Visited Colosseum, Roman forum, palatine hill Day 11: Naples/Amalfi/Positano visit Took train to Naples (1 hour 10 min 300km), reached Sorrento (1 hour 15 min for 50 km) by 10 am, thought of doing Capri tour, but only got Positano/Amalfi coat car tour for 69 euros per person. Good one. We need to at least two days in Naples to cover all attractions. Missed Capri. Back to Rome by Mid Night (similar trains). Day 12; Rome Check out, kept luggage in Hotel. Bus tour, to cover, all monuments/museums, like Angelo Castle, Vatican City, Spanish steps, Trovia Fountain etc. There is Saravanabhavan near Rome Termini. Returned hotel, picked up luggage, transferred to Airport for return to India. We got good help from Google maps from most of the tour, as all transports are guided by the app. Suggest to do our own search and exploration will add values. Use local transports effectively. Almost, we travelled in buses, trains and boats except airport transfer. Paris-metros, Rome-Buses, Switzerland all transports are good. Overall, our tour was very memorable and fantastic with guidance from Anmol/Hub Holiday, and big thanks to the Knowravel/Hub Holiday team and Travel Triangle. Regards Prabakaran

The trip planned with travel masterz was a great and a memorable one. Hotel location in zurich was not good, was far off from the city and half Hour Tram required to reach closest railway staion, could have been better. Interlaken, Paris and Zermatt -- were great as cities hotel and arrangements, Switzerland is a Wonderful place and a must do but in summers that is May onwards. Travel Masterz Coordinator Vikas was very helpful through out the trip and his personal touch has made trip more memorable . Overall a nice Vendor given by Travel Triangle (Shilpa was wonderful in Coordination and making sure that trip goes well in line) Things to Note _- 1) The Voucher of Jungfrau should be converted into Tickets from lauterbrunnen by showing Swiss Rail Pass. 2) The Voucher of Mt Titlis should be converted into Tickets from Engelberg by showing Swiss Rail Pass. 3) For Blackforest tour (part of Germany) needs Original Passport to be carried. Overall wonderful trip Organised by Travel Masterz and Travel Triangle.

Things to Do on an Engelberg trip

1. Indulge in adventurous activities

Try ski and snowboarding, this activity can absolutely not be missed. From the Engelberg ski resort, you can access four distinct ski areas namely Jochpass, Brunni, Bannalp, and Gerschinalp. Once you reach down the slopes, you can also find many places to enjoy a meal.

2. Visit cheese factory

A free attraction, which you can enjoy in Engelberg is the Cheese Factory. Watch how cheese is made here- the “Engelberger Klosterkircher” which is a specialty. You can also buy cheeses to gift to your loved ones and also try fondues at the restaurant as well.

3. Indulge in Buiräbähnli Safari Hike

The Buiräbähnli Safari Hike is a must-do thing on your Engelberg tour packages. A real Alpine adventure, the hike is a circular loop of 20-hours. It begins and ends at the railway station and also has a lot of other exciting adventures.

4. Try your hand at adventurous activities

Once you’re done with skiing and mountain biking, spa and bathing sound like a fantastic idea and Engelberg will give you enough options. Eienwäldli Rock Pool and H+ Hotel & Spa are some of the most loved places for these two.

5. Visit Engelberg Sporting Park

There is an Engelberg Sporting Park, which has many sporting events in one place. Outdoor tennis courts and artificial climbing walls are aplenty here and are ideal to visit on days the weather does not permit you to explore Engelberg.

Travel tips

  • Check the weather before making the booking of your package. You don’t want to end up at Engelberg during the time the temperatures are too high or low.
  • It is possible to customize Engelberg holiday packages and add experiences to it that you like.
  • Compare from different websites before making the final call on your package. Sometimes, the price difference between any two agents is very high.

Booking an Engelberg tour is always a great idea. The place has a certain sense of calmness but also offers many adrenaline rushing adventures to keep the tourists hooked. The best thing about this place right now is the fact that it is not out there on the global map yet. Therefore, visit it before it becomes one of the quintessential tourist spots.
