How To Reach:

By Air:

Around 30 km north-west of Marseille, Marseille-Provence Airport is the fifth busiest airport in the country. A huge number of flights operate to and from this airport on a daily basis to all parts of Europe and the world. But there is no direct flight from India to Marseille. Popular airlines like Air India, Air France serve this route by taking a halt. From the airport one can take public transport or private buses & taxis or trains to reach the city.

By Rail:

There is no passenger train running between India and the city Marseille of France. But if you really want to enjoy a train journey, you can take a flight to any of the major cities in France like Paris, Nice, etc. and then take a train to reach Marseille. The train journey can take 3 - 3.5 hour from Paris and 2.5 - 3 hour from Nice to Marseille. Gare de Marseille St Charles is the main railhead there.

By Road:

Though it is not the convenient way of travelling to Marseille, France and India are well connected by road. A family from Bangalore actually took a road journey to France which took them around 4 months to reach and a lot of paperwork to go through a lot of countries' boundaries. This mode of travelling is very expensive, exhausting and non-convenient.

This time is the best season to visit Marseille between the month of September to November as the temp is neither hot nor cold, making it the perfect time for sightseeing. The rate of flights and accommodations are also low in this season.

Winter in Marseille:
